Are Carter's outlet stores a lot cheaper than Target or BRU sales?

DH is going to be gone all day tomorrow at a football game, and there is an outlet mall about 45 min away.  I'm wondering if it would be worth it to drive down there or not...

Re: Are Carter's outlet stores a lot cheaper than Target or BRU sales?

  • They are alright. I went to one last month and we only ended up getting a few things. They have some great extra sales in the back of the store, i.e. clearance, and that's where we ended up with most of the stuff we got. If you've got a friend you're wanting to spend time with, that would be fun, but I'm not sure if I would take the trip alone (but that's just me).

  • I haven't been but I asked this on my local and the consensus was that its not that great of a deal. The clearance racks in the back of regular carters stores are cheaper they said.
  • It's ok, but I found that my local Kohl's was cheaper for Carter stuff when on sale; for example I picked up set of 2 long sleeve onesies in Kohl's for  $3.98,rrp was $17!! I went to a Carters outlet in Florida and picked up some stuff but honestly I think it's cheaper in department stores like Belk, Kohl's etc (when on offer).

  • Ours isnt!

Example... I got a few fleece footed jammies at Costco for $6.49 each and they were $17 at the outlet?! Along with a few outfit sets (onsie, pants, and jacket) were $8.79 at Costco and they were $24 at the outlet.

My opinion is that you can get much better prices just by scoping the sales rather than going all the way to the outlet.

  • The outlet near me is really good. Mostly what you get there is a much better selection of sale stuff than in a store that just carries their line.

  • I've found much better deals at JCPenney and Kohls for Carters stuff, and you can use coupons.
