Makeup.

I'm ready for new stuff.

Right now I use drugstore brands, liquid coverup and powder, Bronzer and blush.

It has to be thick (ish) to hide(ish) my hairiness.

What do you have and love?
I'm thinking of trying Bare Essentials again, but I used it years ago and I'm not sure it'll be enough coverage on my chin and sideburns :(

Thoughts?

I'm not hairy so I can't say much on that end, but here's what I'm using:

I really like Studio Gear Dual Identity. I find that it covers much better in general than Bare Minerals (which is what I'm using now simply bc I was out of everything and I had a coupon for BM). But that's JMO.

For liquid foundation, I really like Make Up Forever HD Invisible Cover.

For bronzer and blush, I'm using this by Lorac right now. I like it alright. Usually for blush I use Amazing Cosmetics in "pink chocolate" (which is a better color than it looks here.) It takes only a tiny bit and lasts forever. I'm using the Lorac because I got it on sale and, well, it's easier than opening two cases. Yeah, I'm that lazy. :)

ETA: Not sure if you care about all this, but for under eye, I love Garnier Anti Dark Circle Roller and for eyeshadow, I pretty much exclusively use Stila In the Light palette or Not So Nude. :)

  • Thanks, rock.
Do you prefer the mineral over liquid?

  • I use drugstore brands, so not sure how interested you'll be.

I honestly adore Garnier's BB cream. It's got really decent color coverage for a BB, and might be perfect coverage-wise if you layer it under another light/medium-weight foundation rather than something thicker/heavier. Maybe then you could get away with a mineral powder on top. I use Physician's Formula's mineral foundation.

I don't use liquid foundation often enough to recommend one.

I second RAB on Lorac shadows. They're fantastic.

  • It really just depends on my mood and on my skin that day. If my skin is looking good, then I like the powder. If it's not, then I like the liquid.  :) And if I'm lazy (like I am a lot of days) I nix the foundation and just use this stuff from Origins (which I use everyday, even on foundation days). I LOVE this stuff...it really does amazing things when it comes to evening skin tone!

  • I use Benefit liquid to powder foundation and a Naked palette every day. Love them so much (except right now because I got sunburned and now I'm peeling and the foundation makes me scaly).

It is well worth a trip to Sephora to do a makeover. I budgeted for it and am do happy with the results.

A note on Bare Minerals...the powder stuff gets everywhere. I was never impressed with its coverage.

  • Like RAB, I love Makeup Forever but I prefer this kind because it covers my 'burns and chin. In the summer I use less and mix it with my face moisturizer so I can have a bit dewier complexion but still cover the Italian, you know?

I looooove Lorac shadows. I can't get enough of NARS Illuminator in Orgasm as well as their awesome eyeshadow duos.

PS I hate Bare Essentials. Idk how hairy you are but I always felt like it clumped in my 'burns. lol. Maybe I was just being paranoid, but probably not.
