Speaking of Orange is the New Black... (no spoilers, please!)

I haven't watched it yet, but everyone tells me I should. Seriously, everyone I know who has seen it loves it. Well, almost everyone...

Here is a facebook status I just saw today: Barely got through season two of orange is the new black. Pissed me off, not because I work in the criminal justice system but because I'm smart. Plus I don't feel sympathy for millennials in the real world so why should I feel for the ones in jail?

For those of you who watch, care to comment? This opinion is just such a stark contrast to everything I've heard that I'm actually more curious about the show now, haha.

Hmmmm, I don't know where that comment is coming from. It's not a feel sorry type of show. It's funny, intriguing, and sometimes dark. It also shows that criminals aren't all trash. Sometimes one bad choice can land anyone in jail. The show is just different than any other show out there. It's hard to explain.

I didn't know people were suppose to feel sorry for millennials though either.

I fall in with the few who don't love it. I made it through maybe two episodes & lost interest. I have the book to read & am hoping that catches my attention more than the show did.

There were a few slow episodes, @phanatic but we love it. It's just a good story. And season two goes further into the back stories, which is really nice. Whoever wrote that Facebook post needs to learn to enjoy themselves and stop looking so deep into entertainment tv!

I downloaded the book to read on the way to vacation. It lost my interest about a hour in to the drive and I ended up reading Chelsea Handler's new book the rest of the way. (Just to prove my point).

It does have a lot of nudity, sex, profanity, and everything else that you would need to watch with headphones on and away from kids. @janma529‌ it's like true bold with the nudity, just a little bit more. So if that series didn't shock you, this won't.

I've had a few people tell me that the sex is very graphic and that bothered them, but not enough to make them stop watching because they love the story.

@mammersoh Thanks for that heads up. I'm the kind of person who continues to read because I hope the story gets better. Which is the only reason I finished The Bell Jar.

@queensteph17 Maybe I'll give it another shot. It took four tries for me to get past two episodes of LOST, but then again, I still haven't finished that. I'm in the final season, I'm just bored.
