Fitness Post

How is everyone doing?

I am starting to get back on track.  It's hard, but I definitely feel so much better.

This week is week 3 of the C210K. I've only had a chance to run on the treadmill, but I've been trying to challenge myself by increasing the incline as well as my pace.  It's been pretty hard, and I'm not sure I'll be able to keep that up once I get beyond running for 3 minutes at a time!

I've also been keeping up with my daily work outs through the 21 day fix, and I can definitely notice a difference and can actually feel some muscles.

Re: Fitness Post

  • Hello! I am on the second round of the 21 day fix! I have been slacking a bit in the nutrition department, so I need to focus more on that!

As far as fitness, Saturday I did the upper & lower fix and Sunday I did dirty 30 (all 21 day fix workouts). Monday I rode my bike 8 miles, Tuesday, I did cardio fix and yesterday I ran almost 3 miles. Not sure what my workout plan for today is, but I plan on doing something. Maybe Pilates Fix?

It is through Beach Body - it is a meal plan and work out program.  It comes with the DVD's - it's a different work out every day, each 30 minutes long.  It also comes with food containers to help you with portion control (each container is a different color, so green = vegetables, red = protein, etc.).  My neighbor is a coach, so I signed up through her and joined a challenge group on Facebook.  It is a group of people going through the 21 day fix, and you get an assignment each day, post your meal plans, that kind of thing to help with accountability.

I am on day 18, but will continue doing it until I lose the weight that I want.  It is really easy to follow and I am definitely seeing results.

  • I've been trying to get out there. Last week I ran 5 miles again. I'm not super fast but I am so proud to know I can actually go that far, ha! I take some walking breaks but my overall time isn't horrible so I'm ok with that!

I've been trying to get runs in when I can. Saturday i got a 3 mile run in near dd's tball field before the game started. Last night dd biked and I jogged for almost 3 miles. Been trying to go to Zumba at least 2 times a week. Once tball is over I should be back to 3 times.

  • Still sticking with my 2 day per week body fusion class at work.  I have to drag myself there in the heat, but I'm still doing it!

I have been meeting my weekly targets for the last couple of weeks.  This week is 4 visits to the gym.  I am half there and this post is giving me extra motivation to go tonight!  Tonight and then tomorrow and I'm done for the week :)
Then of course a day later Sunday starts a new week

  • I am back on the wagon! Joined weight watchers online to keep me straight with eating. Today Julia and I went for a walk in the neighborhood. 30 mins and there are some major hills in the plan. I am feeling it.
  • I've fallen off the wagon a bit gym wise (our nicer one on campus is closed for summer and the one that is open is not so affectionately called 'the sweat box' :/). BUT - I have started taking yoga and am really, really liking it. I think I'm going to buy a pass of groupon for my teacher's studio (which is within walking distance of my house - yay!) which will give me 30 classes over the course of 3 months :)
  • I finally took my husband up on his offer to use his old fitbit. And tracked my food intake yesterday for the first time in ages. Mostly, I just want to move more and eat less. Walking and hiking fit into my life better than anything else right now.

  • I've been doing okay, keeping to the gym 2-3 times a week and yoga on Mondays.  I think I might also try to get in yoga on Wed mornings before DH goes to work.  I have a great yoga app on my phone, but I am just so unmotivated to workout at home.  I'm down almost 15lbs from doing WW, so I'm happy with that.
