Re: QOTD 6/27

  • We both work a regular 9 to 5. Sometimes he gets called in on nights or weekends, which sucks and which is why he's now looking for another job. I have a second job which is evenings per diem, so I will sometimes do a 5 to 11 pm shift when they need coverage and I need some extra dough. :)

8:30-5 M-F.  DH is all over the place, but he's usually home between 6 and 9.  He works M-F & every other Saturday.  I'm right around 40 hrs/week but DH gets closer to 55/60.

  • I have my my first shift of my new job on Sunday and they have yet to tell me my future hours. I'm guessing it will be all over the place since it\s at a grocery store.

H works 8-5 Monday to Friday.Sometimes he starts earlier or finishes later if he has to do field work.

  • I work 8-430 M-F, DH works 730-4 M-F.

The last year he's been on that schedule, before that it was switch shifts for 3 years.  He'd work 7am-3pm for like 7 straight days have a 3 days off in the middle of the week, then work 7pm-3am for 7 days have a 4 day weekend and then work 3pm-11pm for a M-F.  On the weekends he'd work he'd have to work 12 hour shifts.  It was miserable.  We are both a lot happier with the new job.

I'm also chosing to be a SAHM and take in kids for daycare.  So I only have 5 more months on that schedule.  Then who knows...

  • DH is mostly either 7am-330pm or 8am-430pm. The only oddball day is one day a month where he is on the road all day from 4am till about 12 or 1pm.

I don't even know how to explain my schedule. This week, I was scheduled 1030am-7pm. Next week, I'm 8am-430pm Monday and Tuesday. Wednesday I'm 6am-230pm. Thursday I'm 1030am-7pm.
It usually works out that for one week I'm late shift and the rest alternate between early morning, day, and late shifts.

  • I'm currently on mat leave but my schedule prior revolved around school. H works 730-430 M-F provided there's actually work for him. He's a plumber who does new builds in subdivisions. So if the other trades or the builder aren't busy, neither is he. It blows because lack of stability.

  • I work 7-430 (9 hours) with every other Friday off. I love it.

H is all over the place being a truck driver. He can go in anywhere from 830 pm to 5 am. He works until his run is done. Usually by noon. About once a week he's stuck in VA and sleep in the sleeper truck.

Lately with the busy season - he's been working Monday night to Saturday, off sat night, go in Sunday night, off Monday night. Works Tue night to Saturday. Off sat and sun night. It's all about how many hours he has left.

  • My work hours are 7:30-4 M-F. H used to work M-F but now his work hours are all over the place. He is working with his boss to try to get on an overnight shift so we won't have to put J in daycare. Right now, he is working 6:45a-7:00p Thursday-Saturday with an extra shift every other Wednesday. It sucks, the days are crazy long for all of us. Anyone wanna come visit me in the middle of the day?

  • DH and I work 9-5. About 3x a year, one of us has to start work a bit early which sucks for the other person since we work together. DH also does some work on the weekends with his old boss. Lately it's been only Saturdays from around 830 til 430 or so.

  • Lately, I've been ranging from 9-11 am to 545 pm. My hours will be changing after I come back from maternity leave in the fall, but I don't know what they'll be changing to yet.
H works 7-5 MWF, 11-5 on T, 4pm-10pm on Sat, and he has Thursdays and Sundays off.

  • I work 930-6, H works 830-5 and for the past few months we've been carpooling since it's in the same town and we are trying to keep costs down (he drives a gas guzzler). Once baby gets here and daycare starts I have to see about starting and ending earlier to get to pick up on time!
  • I work 8:30-3:15.  On Wednesdays, I need to be in at 8 for professional development.  I'm on a lot of committees that need to meet after school.  If I have a meeting, it's until 5:15.

H works 9:00-5:30.  During tax season, he works until about 7 and will go in between 8 and 8:30.
