Re: Getting Healthy Check In!!

  • 1. Develop a healthier, more consistent routine, and lose some weight. 2. I've maintained this week. Had a little more self control with junk food and alcohol. 3. Plan is to cook at home more and limit alcohol. 4. Best part of the week was making some dinners at home. 5. Worst was eating dinner at Chili's. Does anyone ever do that and not regret it? QOTW: biggest thing is to remember to eat off of plate and not just stand around the snack table while I consume 20 pounds of guacamole.

    1) Goals?
    Get down another 25 - 30 lbs

    2) How has your progress been this week?
Good!  I weighed myself and looks like I'm down another couple pounds :)  and I did some good things regarding fitness.

    3) What is your "plan" (diet, workout regime, etc)?
Stay under a calorie goal, get 10000 steps / 30 min exercise couple times a week

    4) Best part of your week?
On Wednesday I was at 10,500 steps!  It's the only day I reached that goal since I started tracking last Monday.  Also, I'm proud of myself for going to the gym on Friday!

    5) Worst part of your week?
Not fitness related, just frustration with jobs and TTC related stuff (i.e. we got asked about kids about three bazillion times this last week)

QOTW: How do you handle "food heavy" plans i.e. BBQs, holidays, dinner parties, etc.?
I don't handle these very well yet.  My nephew's birthday party last weekend was tough.

  • 1) Goals? Lose 15 lbs but mainly tone and strengthen.

    2) How has your progress been this week? I did great with my workouts I did at least 30 mins a day but most days was more. Mix up uphill climbing and just power walking.

    3) What is your "plan" (diet, workout regime, etc)? This week we are going on vacation starting Wed so my plan is to continue my daily cardio but up it a bit. Since I have 6 days off I will be doing 2 cardios a day to make up for any vacation indulging I part take in.

    4) Best part of your week? Best part... IDK I'm just proud I kept up my workouts without DH.

    5) Worst part of your week? Trying to find an interview outfit I feel confident in. I hate being unhappy in my own skin.

QOTW: How do you handle "food heavy" plans i.e. BBQs, holidays, dinner parties, etc.?
BBQs I usual taste a little of anything on the table but I load up on meats more than anything else. I also don't care for pasta salads or anything like that so that helps. As for chips I just need to not sit by them. Holidays are evil. That's how I got to where I am now...

  • 1) Goals? Lose 86lbs.

    2) How has your progress been this week? It's been good! After gaining back a pound a few weeks ago, I lost a pound this week.

    3) What is your "plan" (diet, workout regime, etc)? Track food and exercise on MFP and do cardio a few times a week.

    4) Best part of your week? Getting back to 10lbs lost.

    5) Worst part of your week? Felt super icky on Saturday and pretty much laid in bed all day after getting home from work.

QOTW: How do you handle "food heavy" plans i.e. BBQs, holidays, dinner parties, etc.? When I know I am going out to dinner or to a party, I try to save most of my calories for that time of the day. Once I am there, I try to limit myself to a smaller portion of whatever I want.

  • Finally joining. I need some accountability.

    1) Goals? Get healthier by losing the 15 pounds I've put on since we started with a RE.

    2) How has your progress been this week? Well, I forgot my sneakers at home when I went to the beach, so not good. I bought apples and pears for snacks at the farm and have plans with DH to walk tonight after it cools down this evening.

    3) What is your "plan" (diet, workout regime, etc)? Better, cleaner eating. Walking at least 5x per week for 30 minutes, then moving to jogs.

    4) Best part of your week? Getting DH to agree to walks.

    5) Worst part of your week? Sleeping in when I should have gotten up to make a healthy breakfast.

QOTW: How do you handle "food heavy" plans i.e. BBQs, holidays, dinner parties, etc.? I imagine a portioned plate, like kids have, and then try to fill the biggest part of my plate with better foods (fruit, nuts, etc).

    Happy Monday, ladies!

    1) Goals? Lose 20 lbs and tone up

    2) How has your progress been this week? I lost maybe a pound.

    3) What is your "plan" (diet, workout regime, etc)? DH and I started T25 and are now on week 2 and trying to eat healthier.  The eating healthy part is the part I struggle with more.

    4) Best part of your week? Staying consistent with the exercise.

    5) Worst part of your week? All the times I gave in and ate junk instead of something healthy.

QOTW: How do you handle "food heavy" plans i.e. BBQs, holidays, dinner parties, etc.? I don't do well at all :-/

  • ^ @nfp147 is the one who got me into Body by Vi but I am a total convert! I absolutely love it. The trick is that it has to be something that clicks with you. Weight Watchers, low cal, Atkins, etc. never "clicked" or worked for me so I was never successful with it.

Body by Vi is a shake for breakfast and lunch with a healthy, low carb dinner. Healthy snacks (fruit, protein, etc.) between breakfast & lunch and lunch & dinner.

The other key is working out. It's a must.

    That's it!

  • Do you pre-make the shakes? If you do, do they keep well?
