QOTD 7/3

Sinc I'm taking tomorrow off from the regular posts, today's questions are:

1. What's going on for the weekend?
2. Are fireworks legal where you live?

Re: QOTD 7/3

  • 1. I'm in Canada, so nothing 4th of July related.  SIL's birthday is on Sunday so we are going to that.

    2. Yes they are.  I don;t think you can set them off within city limits, but the country is fair game.

H and I are going to the DC fireworks tomorrow! Then we're spending the rest of the weekend recovering from the crowds, haha!

I have no idea if fireworks are legal in MD...they were not in NY, but people still set them off anyway.

EDIT: Most fireworks are illegal in MD and they are banned in our county.

  • Chilllin and grillin!

They are legal but, even if they weren't, no force is strong enough to part a redneck from his fireworks on the 4th of July.

  • 1.) DH's family does their own firework display in middle of no where Wisconsin. So we will be going to that.  Grilling out during the day, fireworks at night.

2.) They were just legalized a few years back.  They used to be illegal, but since I'm on the border of Minnesota and Wisconsin a lot of people would just cross the border to get fireworks.  Liquor stores are also closed on Sundays in MN, not not in WI.

  • We're having a party at our house tomorrow. We pushed it back a couple hours, hoping that the rain will drain from our yard from the remnants of Arthur. So it should be horseshoes, volleyballs, slip n slide, food, booze, and fire pit at our house tomorrow.

The rest of the weekend I hope to relax and get some things done around the house.

NJ = No Fireworks. If you're good about it and don't piss off your neighbors, the cops usually don't do anything about it. Down the shore, as long as you're on the beach and it is before 11pm the cops don't usually do anything. BUT, piss off a cop and/or your neighbors and you're F'd.  We were supposed to go to my parents for their town's fireworks tonight but with the storms coming through I'm sure they'll be postponed.

  • We will be chillin at home tomorrow finishing up the babies room. I finally got my (4th) confirmation it's a boy so I'm comfortable enough to take off tags and wash the bedding set LOL. H parents do a nice BBQ every year and they have a pool but they live 50 mins away and we have a 1 yr old bday party Saturday in the same area so I don't feel like traveling out there both days. Other then that my biggest plan is to try and get this body ready and baby moving!!! Our community is doing fireworks and we heard they spent a good amount on them so be will find a spot of the lake and watch the fireworks from there!
  • This weekend nothing is firm but we are painting the nursery, I want to organize the baby clothes so I know what we need when I yard sale (I got a grocery bag of clothes for $5 last weekend!), and I need to go bra shopping. Currently the underwire is being smooshed between my belly and boobs. I want to cry.

Fireworks are illegal but as pp said, if you aren't being annoying no one cares. I live on the border of PA. It's illegal in both States but you can buy fireworks in PA if you have a MD license. And vice versa. So funny going to my parent's house and seeing a sea of MD tags at the fireworks shop on the border.

  • I'm in Canada so we had fireworks and bbq last weekend. And yes they are legal here. I will be spending this weekend sleeping and entertaining the idea of doing laundry and cleaning my house.

  • 1.)  Tomorrow, we are going to my aunts house for pool time and burgers.  I'm mostly looking forward to getting some sleep!

Saturday, my uncle rented a party barge in the evening and the city will be shooting off fireworks on the lake.  We're up in the air about going to that.  I'm super nervous about taking the girls out there since it will be dark for the last half and I don't want them to accidentally fall in the water.  They'll be wearing life jackets the whole time, but it still scares me.

Sunday, just relaxing and probably some cleaning.

2.) Fireworks are illegal and they strongly enforce it because we are in a drought, so it's very easy to start a fire.

  • We don't have any plans this weekend. DH isn't working and his uncle canceled his July 4th party. We may have some people over. I think we also might paint the garage.

As for fireworks, they are illegal here in NY but that doesn't stop people from lighting them off.

  • Having ppl over for a BBQ and fireworks tomorrow. That's all!

    Yep, they are illegal here.

  • Well we're still in Charleston for the weekend! Tomorrow night we will go downtown and have a nice dinner, then go find a place to watch the fireworks. We saw them here a few years ago. I'm excited! Saturday we will spend at the beach and then Sunday we will hit up the market downtown before heading home.

Fireworks are illegal where we live, but most people don't mind them for the 4th. There's one city in our county where they're legal and the next county up where H works has them legal. Working at one of those stores was H's first job.

  • 1. Going to my bio mom's for a cookout tomorrow. Shopping Saturday. Sunday packing, possibly dropping off the mice to my parents and cleaning since we leave for Colorado on Tuesday.

    2. Negative to my knowledge. H and I have made road trips before over the border to obtain them though.

  • 1.  Today we're running errands and then organizing some baby stuff.  I bought plastic containers so a lot of stuff can go to the house and not worry about getting dusty and gross.

Tomorrow ILs are coming.  FIL is going to help out with work at the house.  MIL and I are going returning and purchasing some things that we didn't get at the shower but we need.

Sunday are maternity photos!!!  I am so excited.  They were H's birthday gift to me.  After that, just relaxing and getting H ready for the work week.

    2.  Fireworks are not legal here.  My neighbor somehow gets professional mortars and they are amazing.  The one neighbor who used to call the police moved to Florida.  My neighbor sets them off in his backyard and obviously the police see them, they're huge, but I don't think they can do anything because they can't come into the yard.  We'll see if the weather holds out.  It's raining pretty steady right now.
