SBC - The Luminaries - NY Times Notable
Getting through this book was a labor of love for me. I really did enjoy it but for some reason it took me a really long time to read this book. There were a ton of characters and I was very grateful that the author reviewed plot points fairly often because otherwise I would have been totally lost. I did enjoy the historical insights that the author gave so I feel I learned a little more about the gold rush in New Zealand. I ended up giving it 3 stars on goodreads. Enjoyable but probably not something I would ever read again.
