We still have a pile of mulch, so I can't say that we will be making a large dent in any home improvement projects this summer! :-S
However, in terms of fun stuff we do have a few things we'd still like to do. We have our vacation in August to look forward to, and we'd also like to make it to kennywood for the first time with the boys. Brian wants to have a camp out in our backyard with the boys (which I am all about because that would give ME a night to myself inside in a cozy bed!) With Jake doing a field trip once a week with summer camp, I feel like he's been able to do a lot of the fun Pittsburgh stuff on his own, so that's been great for him!
I just want to get outside and be "summery" as much as possible. Run through sprinklers, swim at my parents' house, have lazy evenings in the backyard and check out some different playgrounds around the area.
We had a night last week where it was just the four of us splashing in the kiddie pool and playing baseball. It was so nice, I just want to recreate that as many times as possible before summer is over.
DH and I have never mini golfed together! I want to do it this summer.
We also have talked about trying our hand at pierogi making. It would be great to try it this summer because I know the fall is going to be super busy.
Other than arts fest and mini-golf, we haven't really done anything! I had grand plans to do lots of local summer stuff since we are not doing a vacation this summer, but so far I haven't really made a dent in my bucket list. We've had lots of picnics/parties to attend, so we've been having fun, but I definitely want to start doing more. I'd like to go to the pool more, do the drive-in, Pirate Game, Idlewild and/or Kennywood, etc.
Oh and dh and I have two dates we would like to accomplish. The drive-in and the strip district. We are pretty bad with making date night happen, so we will see how that goes.
I'm hoping to take the kids to the water steps this week since they are at science center camps. But these 5pm storms are messing with my plans.
We've got a pirates game next week and we plan to go to Kennywood and Idlewild in August. A few visits to MIL's to use her pool. A few picnic dinners at the playground. I know DH wants to do some more hiking, too, though I am okay with moving some of that to fall. :-)
