Hold me back..

I might be driving to NC to punch someone in the face.

We leave for vacation on Saturday. We picked a house in the **Sparkle Club**, which means although check-in is at 4, you can use the pool and first floor of the house starting at noon- a HUGE selling point when you're driving 7 hours with a baby. We have 14 people, including 4 kids that nap, showing up at noon.

I emailed yesterday to see how it works with check-in, and this is the response I got:
The property is in the Sparkle Club because the owner put it in the program when they signed their PMAs this year, however they did not want guests to have access at noon, so their cleaners would have as much time as possible to get the property ready for the arrivals.

I can't be reading this correctly...right? There is NO WAY they advertised Sparkle Club on the house's page and then they won't let us in??!!

*SPARKLE CLUB Guests will be able to arrive at their vacation home at 12:00 pm with access to the first level of the home and the pool area only (be advised the pool and spa may not be cleaned by noon, if the home offers a private pool). Please do not attempt to go to any other level in your vacation home until 4:00 pm check in time. We have stationed a housekeeping professional in Sparkle Club homes from 10am to 4pm on each change over day. The housekeeping team will continue their work until 4pm to provide your family with extra cleaning for a special vacation! Prior to leaving at 4pm the housekeeper will walk through the home with you to ensure your satisfaction.

I called and I'm waiting for a call back. I'm going to play dumb...and then I'm going to be a HUGE BITCH. WTF.

Re: Hold me back..

  • Oh hell no. I'd be pissed! I'd be raising hell until I got access to what what promised at noon!

  • Ummm....WTH? That is complete bs. Hope they call you back soon.

  • Ughhh that's so frustrating. We switched rental companies for the first time in 10 years when we went to myrtle this year. The old one always let us check in early...the new one, not so much. We were stuck on the beach with basically nothing because everything was packed away for 3 hours. I would call and complain big time.

So I called and played dumb and asked how the Sparkle Club works. The woman explained and made no mention that my house was different...so I'm going to go at NOON and hope for the best!
  • Hope you guys have a blast!

Pack a separate bag with bathing suits, towels, snacks, stuff like that that you can grab to use on the beach if they don't let you in for whatever reason. M was running around in his underwear and we had to dig around for a bottle of sunblock. Not fun.

  • That's ridiculous!

Does it cost more to rent a "Sparkle" property?

Not necessarily, but it's a huge selling point of the house.

I'm hoping the woman just misunderstood my email...though...it was pretty clear!
