@sfgiantsjo - Gwynnie Bee

If I remember correctly, you subscribe to this.  Right?  I've been considering it but the subscription rate is kind of high for me.  Is it worth it?  Which plan do you have?

  • I do! I love it! I have the 3 garments per month plan. It is expensive, and I always debate cancelling, not because it isn't worth it, but because it isn't necessary and I start to feel guilty spending that much on it.  I have a few pieces of advice:

    1) If you are really good about returning things quickly, it is more "worth it". I try to decide if I'm going to wear the item, or return it the day I get it. They are pretty fast about shipping, and you go online to tell them when you are returning something, so they can start processing your next shipment without waiting to actually receive the returned item.

    2) Pay attention to your "closet" (which is basically your item wait list). You can put stuff on hold if it isn't the right season, otherwise you may end up with sweaters in July.

    3) Read the reviews if there are any. people will talk about fabric, fit, etc, and it can be really helpful.

    4) Buy stuff you like! I've purchased 4 or 5 items already, and always at VERY steep discounts. I got a dress for 24 bucks, and shirts for 12. I got a Lucky Brand top for like 18 bucks.

    5) Try things you NEVER would have. I hated dresses before GB. Now I'm in LOVE with them. So much easier to risk stuff when there's no commitment. You can wear it to work, see how it feels over a whole day.

    Anyhow, the price is high, but it's fun! It takes a few tries to get the "flow", but I really do love it right now.

  • I did the free trial month and LOVED it. I just couldn't justify the cost once that ended. I also bought and kept one item. It was an $80 skirt I got for $30.
    I write sexy books. I read all the books. I love dresses & macarons.

    That's what I'm afraid of, Skeezon.  Maybe I'll do it for a couple of months on the 2 item plan.  $60 is a lot less than $100/month.

    So let me ask this.  If you get your two items, don't like one or both and send it back, do you get another shipment automatically or do you have to wait until the next month?

  • Automatically - you can get unlimited items per month, you're just limited to 2 at any given moment.

    Last question, how long do you get to keep them for before you have to purchase?

  • As long as your subscription is active. Months and months, if you wanted.

    All right.  I did it and have 18 items in my closet so far.
