Question (LR)

How long after m/c can I expect it to take before my cycle returns? M/C was 21 days ago and my average cycle length is 26 days (when not pg or on hbc).

I consulted Dr. Google for an average, but came up with nothing.

TIA, ladies!

Re: Question (LR)

  • I'm so sorry for your loss.

It can depend on a lot of things: how far along you were, whether you had a d&c or natural m/c, how regular your cycles are normally, etc.

My cycle is also 26 days and it took me 40+ days to get my first period after my missed m/c and d&c. My other losses were quite early and my cycle normalized fairly quickly.

Again I'm sorry you have to deal with this. If you have serious concerns I'd say talk to your Dr.

  • My cycle returned 39 days after my natural miscarriage.  Prior to the BFP cycle, my cycles ranged anywhere from 28-34 days.

I hope it regulates quickly for you.

  • I'm so sorry for your loss. Not sure how far along you were but that may play a factor.

Personal experience - I was 7w5d. Prior to that my cycles were always 27/28 days. My first cycle after loss was only 21. The next was 25. It may take some time to regulate. If you're concerned at all, don't hesitate to call your dr.

Again, I'm really sorry you have to deal with this.
  • Thanks, ladies. I wasn't very far along (didn't even know I was pg until m/c started). It was a natural m/c, so I know it could take a while. I really appreciate all your kind words. :)
  • All three times it returned as normal, counting from the start of the miscarriage. They were all natural miscarriages. I'm sorry for your loss.

I'm sorry for your loss. My cycle after my d&C was 8 weeks long, but my natural m/c cycle was the same length as normal.

ETA: I don't know why this is posting so weird.

I'm so sorry about your loss.

My missed M/C I was on BC, so AF came about 2 weeks later.  Right on par with the pack of pills.
Our M/C in November I had to get Provera to start the next cycle. (I didn't have regular cycles to begin with)
After the CP in February I had a normal cycle that next month.  Believe it was 30 days.

So it really could be different, or it could be the same.  If it gets too long, give your doctor a call.
