WIJFR: Midnight Crossroad (NS)

I really enjoyed this one. After such a disappointing last few Sookie books, this was a welcome, fresh story. I would suggest to other readers that they read the Lily Bard mysteries first (Shakespeare's Landlord, etc.), as one of the characters in those books is one of the main characters in this book, but it's not absolutely essential in order to be able to follow this story (though it will spoil the Bard books if you haven't already read them and plan to do so). Fun characters, engaging plotline. This should lead to a promising new series.

I just finished this today and would rate it a 3.5. I wasn't as pulled into the world as I was with the first Sookie book, but I was interested enough to keep reading. I'm curious to see where the next story goes.

I agree with you on this. I thought it was interesting, but hard to get fully involved with the characters. I found myself at times thinking how does this character fit in here. I look forward to seeing where the story goes from here.

ITA. I enjoyed it also. Sometimes I like not knowing a lot about the characters and learning tidbits here and there as the story progresses. Looking forward to the next one.
