Have you ever smoked before? What about DH?

I have smoked a few cigs, but I was never a smoker. I have pretty bad asthma. DH was an almost-smoker the year before law school and quit cold turkey. (He's so weird, he did that with coffee too. Drank it all summer while studying for the bar exam and literally the day it was over he just quit. Crazy!)

ETA: I've probably smoked less than a pack in my whole life. I watched my grandma (who was a nurse) die of lung cancer and, in her words, "It's a shitty way to go."

Nope, neither of us have ever smoked. We both find it to be way too gross. I can't even be around people who smoke because the smell bothers me too much.

I tried cigarettes in my teens (STUPID!). But neither DH or I have ever been or will ever be smokers.

We were both smokers, but both managed to quit. I quit almost 4 years ago and he quit like a year and a half ago. Best decision ever!

Nooooooope. I hate the smell of cigarettes and I especially hate it when people smell like smoke all the time (so pretty much everyone on my dad's side of the family). H's grandfather's smoked when they were alive but they both had lots of health problems due to it and died pretty early.

H said he wants to get cigars to share with his friends if we get pregnant.

I smoked in high school. I think that I bought maybe 3 packs my entire life. I used to have a cigarette maybe twice a year in my 20s but I haven't smoked in about 5-6 years.

Neither of us have smoked before. I think i might have taken a puff of a friend's cigarette when i was wasted at a bar in college, yuck!

I hate the smell of cigarette smoke, it gives me a migraine!

I never tried. I get bad sinus infections, that lead to bronchitis more than I can count, and pneumonia once... No thank you!

H smoked, quit when his dad got lung cancer. That was 10 years ago.

@ramstein1027 - it must be a Pisces thing because I'm the same way with quitting things. There's no in between for me. It's all or nothing.

I used to smoke regularly, but I was never addicted and I only smoked clove cigarettes because they taste and smell really good. I haven't smoked in forever though and don't plan on doing it in the future. H likes to smoke when he drinks if he's around other smokers. Thankfully our local friends don't smoke, so it's only when he hangs around his college buddies from out of town. I really wish I could get him to stop all together. I hate it!

I smoked in high school when I was cool. I never bought my own cigarettes and I never inhaled. I smoked once in college, actually inhaled and almost died. I also bought cigarettes in college once. I was a cow girl for Halloween and needed Marlboro Reds to finish the outfit. I didn't smoke any of those.

H never smoked cigarettes. Both of his paternal grandparents died from lung cancer. From what I've been told, it was quite awful.

I was an occasional smoker in college. I quit my junior year.

H was a smoker and actually just quit in April.

I smoked but didn't inhale for like, a month or two my freshman year. H smoked from 16 to 19. We both will occasionally take a puff from our friends electronic cigarettes when drinking.

I never have. I have too many breathing problems to even try.

H is an occasional pipe and cigar guy. But, he respects my health by going outside to do it or in a well vented area of the house.
