Re: FRIDAY CONFESSIONS

  • Today is not a good day.

1.)  I HATE that my anger has a direct line to my tear ducts.

2.)  I HATE that I'm so pissed and I can't even go to the gym to work off these feelings because I've been having a lot of trouble breathing this week and I was advised by my doctor to take the week off.

3.)  This then leads to me being annoyed because now I'm angry, can't work off the anger, and have this irrational fear of gaining weight.

  • Lots of hugs @MrsJenE.  I know it's not easy, but try to cut yourself a little slack for missing the gym this week.  You will get right back to it when your doctor gives you the OK. Can you go get a massage or mani/pedi to help relax?

Hugs and wine @MrsJenE‌ If you can't sweat the stress away, drink it away. Stress wine has 50% less calories, yes?

I don't want to go to my cousins wedding. It's at 6:30 downtown, I have to drive in from the 'burbs with Friday summer time traffic which is insane. And she's a fashion designer, I have no style and feel like an oompa loompa every time I'm around this group of people. Hopefully it's an open bar. Edited because I can't spell.

I feel bad because he's only 3, but I just don't like this little kid I'm babysitting today. He's obnoxious and he's a tattle tale ("Isaac ran to to the back of the yard! He's down by the table!" ... "Um, ok." ) and he keeps hurting my boys by pushing them over. He says annoying things and needs someone looking at him nonstop. And if he doesn't have anything to say, he makes a high pitch "EEEEEEE!" noise. The boys and I are all just staring at him. lol.  He's always been a little bit... awkward? but now that he's bigger, he's also just a bruiser.

I've been friends with his mom for a long time and our boys are just a couple weeks apart in age and have known each other always so I feel like I have to just deal with it. I was just having a "Oh, we're friends! Let me help you out!" day when I agreed to watch him and it's only every other Friday...

    But wow.

If it's any consolation, going downtown from the burbs should be a reverse commute and less painful...

  • Looking forward to the RWA conference next week. NOT looking forward to the 100 degree weather with 60% humidity in San Antonio next week.

After that is my first official book signing gig at B&N back home. I'm SO terrible with remembering names that I'm going to have someone hand out post-its for people to write their name on to "make sure I spell it right." But, really, it's also to jar my memory. #OldLadyFTW
I write sexy books. I read all the books. I love dresses & macarons.

Hopefully but I'm not counting on it, we have some of the worst traffic in North America here in Toronto.

  • Our CEO invited the whole office & their spouses/significant others to a dinner this Saturday at a laid-back restaurant on the water. We were told that she wanted to have an informal dinner. We found out yesterday that we are expected to dress up. Now I totally don't want to go. I like my coworkers but I don't want to get dressed up to go have dinner with them on a Saturday. We are going to stick out at that place like sore thumbs. I appreciate the gesture, but really want to say our sitter canceled or we all have diarrhea or something.

This does not compute... I will go almost anywhere if it means I get to get all dressed up.  I've put up with the most annoying, mind-numbing DH work functions because I get to wear pretty heels and do my hair.

I am with @84Lauren on this one!  I LOVE LOVE LOVE getting all dolled up.  Sparkles and glitter and pretty shoes and felling pretty get me all giddy and excited.  I don't care what the occassion is, I just want to look good and feel like a million bucks.

I'm glad I'm not alone in this. :)  The food better be awesome. I think I am gonna wear a black sheath dress and black slingbacks. Can't go wrong with a LBD, right?

Sounds good to me.  It can be dressed down or up as needed.
