I didn't see this discussed today.... Deathly Hallows came out 7 years ago!

I wish I could live all the HP excitement of a new release all over again!

I can't believe it's been 7 years already.  Where has the time gone?

  • I still remember the midnight premier like it was yesterday.  Going to it with Madison (who would have just been 6!!!)
I made Muggle Mom and Muggle Daughter shirts and we got on TV.

    Sigh

Then staying up to read even though I had two weddings the next day. And going outside to read in between the weddings and telling my staff not to call me unless the hotel caught on fire!

It truly feels like just yesterday.

I remember going to the Amazon forums and speculating endlessly as to what we thought was going to happen.  When I did get it, I read it all in one night.

    I so miss that anticipation.

  • I remember going to the midnight release back when DH and I were only dating and being thrilled that he wanted his own copy so I wouldn't have to share. I can't believe it's been 7 years!

  • I was thinking about that this weekend.  It makes me sad!

I actually didn't go to a midnight release for 2 reasons:

    1) I didn't want anybody to be a dick & yell out what happened (ala HP6)

    2) I didn't want to stay up all night reading (IK,R?)

I got it the next day.  Read & finished it that day then started it again to re-read!

    *sigh*

  • I got it the next day and remember sneaking it out to read at work at JCPenney that night.  I worked in the housewares department and it was so so slow, so I stood at the cash register and read my book.

  • The princess was 3 when HP was released so I didn't go to any midnight releases but I remember literally jumping for joy when I got home that day and saw the book on my doorstep. The princess went to bed at 7 and I read from 7 until probably 3am. I was a complete zombie that next day but it was totally worth it!

I really miss this level of anticipation! I don't think anything will be like that again.
