Update/rant

Well I still have to have the d&c after all of this. I'm so upset, and scared, and tired. I'm ready to move forward. Anyway, if I could request some T&Ps for my surgery tomorrow, I would really appreciate it. Then hopefully this whole nightmare will be over. Thanks girls

  • T&Ps coming your way.  I really hope this is all over for you soon.
  • I am sorry that you need to have a D&C, but it's not that bad.  From the time I went in to the time I left recovery was barely an hour.  I was a little groggy for the rest of the day and began feeling normal again 2 or 3 days later.  I know it's scary to have surgery, but you will be alright.

Remember, when you're ready to talk, I am here!
  • Thanks ladies.

It's interesting to hear how different it might be @sjs1013.  I have to be there 90 mins before the surgery and they keep me for observation for at least an hr.  I'm scared because of a bad response to the anesthesia before, but the anesthesiologist called me last night and we will talk a lot more today too, so he put my mind at ease a little.  I'm ready for this all to be over.  It's not like today I'm mourning my baby, because it has been gone for weeks now.  I'm scared there will be any scarring that is going to make my journey harder later.

In any case, at least I hopefully will get my closure today.  Thanks again for the T&Ps.  I appreciate reading them while I wait.

  • I had to be there 90 minutes or 2 hours before the procedure, I can't remember.  I know I had one of the first surgery time slots of the day.  I was the first one of the day to arrive in ambulatory surgery and the first one to arrive in the pre-op room.  I was in recovery until I was completely with it and my vitals were good, then they moved me to a regular room.  They gave me some food and waited for my doctor came to check on me.  Once he cleared me, the nurse came in to discharge me.  I got there around 7 and was back home by about 11:30.
