Is this one of the YA paranormals that came during the Twilight era? I may have read it but all those front covers have melded into the same thing in my mind.

ETA: I just remembered. And no. Because the premise sounded incredibly wack at the time. From the sound of it, I was right in my decision.

Also, yes I realize I just said wack. And no, it isn't 1993.

I remember liking it, but then I don't ever remember finishing the series, so I couldn't have liked it that much. I read it in my post-Twilight haze.

ETA: Yup. Gave it 4 stars on GR in 2009, but gave the second book 1 star.

I'm mildly curious what has you and @84lauren handling pitchforks & torches with this book.

  • One of my favorite book bloggers has these labels for it on GR. That pretty much sealed the deal.

  • NOPE.

I had quite the list of things I didn't like about it. I don't remember most of them now. But NOPE.

It legit took me a long time to even get over it.  I am not much of a critic usually, but I could not even handle how many things were SO. VERY. WRONG. with this book.

And now that I'm lost in a new series and enjoying books again, @MrsJenE has to go and bring it up...

I haven't been able to read a book since I finished Hush, Hush. I have book hangover, but not in a good way.

  • I remember reading it and being like, wha?? My GR review tells me that I basically hated all the characters, there was too much whining and not enough back story.

  • I liked it and finished the series.  There have been so many series books published since then that just blow it out of the water.

Right?!? I was really excited to read this, I knew it wouldn't be a literary masterpiece but I figured it was enjoyable.  I felt like NBC let me down for the first time EVER.
