Are all boys this gross?

I'm going to start by saying that you all know H is basically the male me and I don't have any brothers, so I honestly don't know if what I experienced this weekend is typical...

I LOVE the guy we stayed with in VA Beach.  He is by far my favorite of H's friends.  He's so fun and laid back and treats me like a friend instead of his friend's wife.  He's just a good guy.  With that said, the last time we went down to see him, we opted to stay in a hotel because we decided the time before that that we both thought his house was disgusting.  I think I might have even posted about it when we got back.  Since then, however, his roommate's gf moved in, so we thought that it might be safe enough (and not to mention cheaper) to give staying at his house another go.  And we were pleasantly surprised to find that all of the common areas were much improved.  She painted, the beer posters are gone, and the kitchen floor is no longer sticky.  What we sort of forgot about, though, was that H's friend has his own bathroom...and that that is the one we were expected to use.  Girls...the mold...oh my goodness.  The shower curtain looked ombre, starting with clear at the top and ending with black at the bottom.  There was a half full can of beer in the shower, which we were told had been there for over a month.  I'm pretty sure his towel hadn't been washed in a looooooong time...because I could smell it from the hallway.  And he doesn't have a toothbrush.  I checked.

We had the pleasure of sleeping in his bedroom...where I found a sock full of condoms next to the bed...some opened.  The bed, of course, is actually a mattress on the floor and the sock was right next to where my head was going to go.  When we were leaving, he asked if we had had sex in his bed.  I said no and he said, "Oh good, that means I don't have to wash the sheets."  Whaaaaaat?

There's more, but I think the highlights will suffice.

So, he totally needs an intervention, right?  He's turning 31 soon.  He needs to stop living like a frat boy!!!

Or am I being too judgy?

He needs an intervention. Or a girlfriend.

    That's gross.
  • Barfffffffffffff. He needs more than a girlfriend. That is horrible, and I would have a hotel on speed dial if I was visiting again.

  • EW!!! I think the intervention needs to happen before the girlfriend. Other wise, it might be hard for him to keep one. How did you use that bathroom???

  • I remember hearing about this dude. He sounds disgusting. Rest assured that not all guys are this way. I remember when Ben and I were in college he used to get crap from his friends for cleaning before I came in town. And they called him Martha Stewart because he was always going to the grocery store and cleaning.

I closed my eyes for the majority of the time I was in there.

  • My husband's apartment was the cleanest thing I'd ever seen when we got together. He's gradually gotten lazier (read: expects me to do it all) & doesn't clean as much as he used to, but no. That's abnormal.
