Need some Nestie Job Vibes

A few weeks ago, I met someone at a networking event that works at one of the places that I'm interested in. I had a phone conversation with her a few days later, and she offered to critique my resume. Her comments were super helpful and she encouraged me to apply for some openings at her company.

Last Friday, I applied for an online posting. However, it wasn't in her department. She said that she'd try to contact someone in that department. But, she's been on vacation and I haven't heard back from her.

Then, last night, I was at another networking event. I mentioned that I had just applied for this job and someone said, "oh, what department". It turns out that she works in the department that I applied to! I immediately gave her my business card! She emailed me today with the department director's email address and told me to send my resume, etc. directly to the director and that I could say that she referred me. That way, I would bypass HR. She also told me that they've only interviewed one person and she didn't think the interview was stellar (person only had a masters degree and the position prefers a Ph.D.).

I feel like I've done too much for this one to not at least get an interview.

I'd appreciate any Nestie job search good vibes that you ladies might have!!!
