hi. i have a 17 year old cat who is going to the vet today. his teeth are jacked and a few probably need to be extracted. i have read that senior cats dont do good when being put under. anyone been through this with? tyia!
Age is not a disease but severe dental issues is. With a good physical exam, preanesthetic blood work and a good anesthesia protocol with monitoring there is no reason he couldn't go through anesthesia safely.
There is, of course, always a risk with anesthesia young or old that can never be completely eliminated.
