What did you read in JULY?

Hot damn...I can't believe July is over already.

What did you read this month? How was it? How many is this for the year? How are you doing on your goal?

Re: What did you read in JULY?

  • I did a little better this month, after reading almost nothing in June.

The Julian Chapter: A Wonder Story (novella) - RJ Palacio
Just One Night (novella) - Gayle Forman
Make It Count - Megan Erickson
    Dangerous Girls - Abigail Haas

I'm at 29/52 for the year. I'm a few books behind schedule and, honestly, I have no idea when I can get caught up. Ho hum.

Mr. Perfect by Linda Howard - 2 stars. It was awful.
Low Pressure by Sandra Brown - 4 stars.
Hello, Darkness by Sandra Brown - 3 stars.
Vision in White by Nora Roberts - 4 stars.
Bed of Roses by NR - 5 stars. I love NR but this is the first time I've ever cried from one of her books. I still can't figure out why it got to me so much haha.
Savor the Moment by NR - 4 stars.

6 books. Not bad for me considering I haven't read anything in the past week.

  • Heart of Darkness by Joseph Conrad - 4 stars. I'd never read it, and I listened to the Kenneth Branagh audio recording, and it was excellent. Dark and eerie. I'm glad I never had to read it in school, because picking apart the imagery for all the symbolism would have spoiled it a bit.

The God Patent by Ransom Stephens - 3 stars. The premise was interesting (a couple of tech guys write a patent for the soul so they can use the patent bonus money to buy a boat), but the novel itself was just so-so.

Brave New World by Aldous Huxley (re-read) - 5 stars. I'm not sure that Huxley's world is really so bad. review
