Re: Monday Accountability
1. $5 at CVS and that's it
2. None to report
3. I grew up going to amusement parks and going on air planes all the time, and now I am just terrified of them!
No closer to our goals although I did our spreadsheet to see what we had really saved last month by trying to cut almost everything and it was close to 2k so I felt really great about that! That will just go towards the house this month, but we can now cash flow all those unexpected things and possibly by a new piece of furniture or something bigger if we need to. We are trying to stay in the same no spending mindset this month to do the same or better.
I walked for graduation from college before graduating from high school. I wish more states did this but in MN I went to college my last 2 years of high school and graduated with my AA degree. And the state paid the community college tuition. Talk about the student loans that would save people!!! There were requirements so not everybody could do it but my brother, sister and I all qualified and it was great!
1. How MM was your weekend? Spent $100 on groceries. We also bought H a "cash" car and he bought a bunch of parts for it. So far that was $200 for new brakes, rotors, and stuff for oil changes in the new car and the one he's trying to sell.
2. Any progress towards goals? Listed H's car for sale since it won't fit a car seat or stroller in it. We also bought him a used car in cash that needed a little TLC but wasn't a bad car at all. So only progress will be when his car sells and we wipe out $7k in car debt. Yay!
3. Tell us anything interesting about yourself. I live in a town of 800 people and grew up in a town of 400. The nearest Starbucks is an hour away.

1. How MM was your weekend? Pretty good- groceries ($136), gas ($50), feeding my fabric addiction/stock pile ($25)
2. Any progress towards goals? Nothing new
3. Tell us anything interesting about yourself- I love to sew and am working on my first quilt (I get about an hour every night after the girls are in bed). I have 3 16"x16" blocks complete- only 13 more to go. It's my therapy..
1. How MM was your weekend? It was alright - DH went to a bachelor party and we bought groceries and Redbox.
2. Any progress towards goals? Paid an extra $1,400 toward mortgage this month!
3. Tell us anything interesting about yourself I've always been interested in finances, but I am even more now and I'm constantly trying to see how to improve my spreadsheet lol.

1. How MM was your weekend? Great. We spent $75 on a big night out with friends and had an absolute blast!
2. Any progress towards goals? Finished saving for my college! I already AW'd this. Now we are back to his SLs
3. Tell us anything interesting about yourself. I will probably be deaf in my right ear before I turn 30. I am down to about 50% of my hearing at 22.

1. How MM was your weekend?
Eh so-so. We finished buying painting supplies - $120, but most of it is stuff we can keep going forward which is nice. We also bought some samples in that. We spent about $50 on groceries and $35 on gas.
2. Any progress towards goals?
YES! H finished the bar exam and we closed on our first house about an hour ago! We are super excited be through both!

When I was 18 - and before I turned 19 - I got called to federal grand jury duty TWICE. The second time was after my name got entirely dismissed from the pool from the first call. I figure the odds of that happening are lower than winning the lottery. I wish I had won the lottery instead!

1. How MM was your weekend?
$40 on date night Friday. $15 on groceries on Saturday (after coupons and gift cards). Wahoo!
2. Any progress towards goals?
Increased savings by $42, but also increased debt by $132. Ugh!
3. Tell us anything interesting about yourself
I eloped because my family made it too difficult to have a nice wedding!
1. How MM was your weekend? Paid cash for everything this weekend. Helps that we had a wedding on Saturday that MW sent the gifts directly to the newlywed's house. Then on Sunday had an early 80th birthday party for MW's grandfather.
2. Any progress towards goals? Got paid on Friday so this week the automatic transfers to savings will happen. MW's student loans are under $20k now.
3. Tell us anything interesting about yourself My son is very much a mini me. He needs time alone to recharge and being around large crowds even if just extended family can be too much for him. I just hope that he doesn't end up being bi-polar like I am.
Slurpeelove- that is kind of sad and yet funny to me. Funny because after we got engaged we went to Vegas and my mom was like you should just elope when you are there- it's so much easier!
1. How MM was your weekend?
We started our new budgeting system this weekend and H is completely on board. We went out on Friday night ($25 dining), Breakfast Saturday morning ($30 of next week's dining budget, so we will have pizza for dinner instead of going out), and stockpiled a month's worth of groceries at BJ's $154 total. I'm pretty happy that we are staying right within budget.
2. Any progress towards goals?
Just sticking to the new budget is our big goal right now, but I was able to pay down some more debt, put $100 towards vacation savings, and $100 towards our payoff savings.
3. Tell us anything interesting about yourself
Portuguese was my first language since my household only spoke Portuguese (my parents/grandparents moved here from the Azores; I was born here). My kindergarten teacher was also Portuguese, so she really helped me learn English. I can still read and write, but I can't speak it as well as I should.
