Pittsburgh restaurant week summer edition

Restaurant week is August 11-17!  Anyone planning on going?

DH and I made a reservation for Savoy.  We have never been there before and are looking forward to trying it.

During the winter RW we tried Braddock's for the first time and loved it.  We also went to the Capital Grille because it is a favorite and we really loved the prices during RW.

Re: Pittsburgh restaurant week summer edition

  • Oooo. Tell me about loving prices at the Capital Grille because I love their food. My budget does not love the bill. ;) That week will be a bit hectic for us (week leading to vacation), but I would love one nice meal. We used to do that much more frequently than we do now.

DH and I really like Braddock's. Our anniversary is the 18th, and we're hoping to get somewhere that week to celebrate.

  • We may have to try somewhere new, I wonder if I can make DH wait to go out for his birthday 2 weeks!  ;)

Not on the list but totally worth the trip if you haven't been there is Hyeholde. We went for our anniversary a few weeks ago and it was amazing. Probably one of the best meals I have ever had. But it is pricey.

@jcubed2003 during winter RW Capital Grille had 3 courses of select regular food for the fixed price ($35 maybe $40).  I got a steak, side and dessert (maybe a salad too, can't remember) for the fixed price.  DH upgraded $5 to get the coffee rubbed steak he likes.  It was similar to Morton's menu which you can view already in the summer menu list.

@lishie did you know that Braddock's has discounts through restaurant.com?  I don't think you can use the discount during RW but at other times it is nice to save a little.

@kris356 I went to Hyeholde a long time ago.  It was really nice.  They always donate their sherry bisque to the Food Bank's empty bowls soup supper fundraiser and it sells out FAST.  It is SO good.

@csauve, I've used a few $2 restaurant.com deals to get gift certificates for Braddocks :) That's usually how we eat there. My husband loves the reuben at the side street bar there. And I love the muddled berry whiskey cocktails

Has anyone tried Grit & Grace? They are participating and I like the name for some reason, thought we might try it.

Not yet.  It must be newer because I'm hearing buzz about people wanting to try them.
