Anybody have a pigeon toed kid?

My youngest is pretty pigeon toed and I think it's attributing to her tripping/falling while running.  Does anyone have any idea when kids normally outgrow it?  Is there anything I can do to encourage "normal" foot placement?  She is 3 1/2.  My oldest dd was pigeon toed but I can't remember when she outgrew it, but I think she was younger than 3 1/2.

Re: Anybody have a pigeon toed kid?

  • I'm pigeon toed and G is pigeon toed. My ped told us that most kids outgrow it by age 4. And if they don't, corrective measures can be taken.

I wore corrective shoes as a kid (which crushed my arches and now I have unnaturally flat feet), so I'm a little hesitant to intervene unless necessary. G is also very clumsy and trips a lot (and so am I). I would talk to your ped about it.
