Americans for the Arts. I also donate blood regularly with the American Red Cross.

@WillyH19 I used to also donate blood regularly. I need to get back into it after baby!

I donate to a few charities a year through my union. The support Susan G. Komen in the fall and in the spring they support a few local women's shelters through a few different drives. I donate a lot to Toys for Tots around the holidays.

@sjs1013‌ do you find they are aggressive with calling you to donate? They call me as soon as I'm eligible again and don't give up until I schedule a donation. It can be a bit off putting, but worth it.

If I do donate, it's usually to one of the local animal shelters.

H and I did a donation in my SIL's name for Christmas one year and now I'm constantly getting mail from them. It's a sore subject. Only upside is I now own a very lovely paper map of Africa.

Susan G. Komen. We do the Race for the Cure every year. MIL is a breast cancer survivor since 2007. I also donate to March of Dimes (premature babies) through work. I've donated to United Way in the past, but I don't remember them telling us about the opportunity to this year through work.

You guys are making me think I need to donate blood again too! I haven't in quite a while and I'm O-, so they love my blood

In the past I have donated to money to breast cancer research and autisim research and clothing and home goods to good will. The biggest thing I have donated in the last 4 years is my time to Big Brothers Big Sisters. I know it's technically not a charity but time (and money) spent with my "little sister " should count :-)

I tend to donate mostly to local agencies because I know them better, they need it more, and because I don't trust a lot of the larger charities. I did donate my hair to Children With Hair Loss when I cut it earlier this year. It's a great alternative to Locks of Love.
