CPW: Laundry related

DH and I had a discussion/non-heated argument about the laundry yesterday. I rarely do it because I have a lot of clothes (FWP), so he usually does it to get some clean clothes. My question is...

How long could you realistically go without washing clothes but still wearing clean ones (without buying new staples)?

Re: CPW: Laundry related

  • Oh man. I forgot 3-4 weeks. Oh well.

I could go 2-3 weeks. If I bought more underwear, I could easily go a month or more (maybe even 6 weeks if I could wear cocktail dresses to work or the grocery store...)

  • I put 2-3 weeks. I could probably go even longer if I wore everything in my closet, including the fancy dresses. I actually think I have enough undies as is to go 6 weeks...

  • I'm a week before I start running out.  I hate my body, so I rarely buy clothes.

DH on the other hand is a clothes hoarder.  We have been together for 8 years and once in a while he pulls out a t-shirt I have never seen.  His laundry piles are an issue in our house.

  • I mean, I COULD go several weeks, but that's wearing clothes that I rarely wear. I try not to repeat outfits for 2-3, but I wear the same 4-5 pair of pants regularly.

  • I would say no more than 2 weeks. I have a lot of clothes I don't like on me but haven't donated yet so if I had to wear those items I could make it 2.5 weeks.

  • I have way too many clothes and could easily go 3+ weeks. I tend to wear the same things over and over, but if I had to go without washing, I'd be completely fine.

If we're talking everyday clothes, um, not very long. I have tshirts (and undies) for days, but I only have 2 pair of shorts and 2 pair of jeans (one of which is going to die any minute now..). If we include work clothes, then I could add 4 more pairs of pants, but only about 6-7 shirts. I really don't have that many clothes. We do all our laundry once every 7-10 day usually.

T-TTC since Dec 2008. PCOS/nonexistant cycles(anovulation) and endo. HSG in '10 revealed both tubes blocked. Lap surgery in Dec '10 to correct. Failed Clomid/IUI and injectable(Bravelle)/IUI cycles so far.

  • If I actually wore everything in my closet, including the stuff I'm not really fond of/doesn't fit great anymore, definitely up to 3 weeks, only because I don't think I have enough undies to go longer.

  • I don't have a lot of clothes bc I have a hard time finding stuff that fits right. If I got creative, I could go three weeks with re-wearing pants.

  • It's the underwear that would get me. I have about 3 weeks of underwear. If I had more, I could easily go a couple weeks longer.

  • I have a uniform shirt for work. I have 8 of them I think, so I could go a week and a half with a clean shirt each work day. I have 2 pairs of jeans, a pair of shorts and 2 pairs of capri pants, so again, wearing pants a day or two (sometimes 3) before washing, I could go 2 weeks.  I could last longer, but I use the pants on weekends too... I have a decent amount of tops that are not work related, but where I would run into a snag is undies. I think I only have 10-12 pairs
    ~Jenny~
  • Undies would be my downfall but if I went commando probably a few months.
