TGIF! Weekend Plans?

What is everyone up to this weekend?

  • Tonight: Rich is taking Mason to the drive in with a friend...I'm not sure what I'll do with Garrett yet.

Saturday: Going to lunch with some friends, then helping one of them with her baby registry.  Our neighbors just got a pool, so we plan to swim.

Sunday: Our library is having a touch a truck event, so we'll go to that....otherwise, not much on the agenda for the day.

    Have a great weekend!

Tonight: Benihana for Nathan's birthday, which was Wednesday.

Saturday: I need to get the decorations finished for my SIL baby shower next week. My Silhouette has not been cooperating with my computer. I also need to go pick up her present since Babies R Us will only ship it to store, not to my house and they don't carry it in store. WTF? This stroller better be made of gold for its aggrevation, which I know it not because my sister has the same one.

Sunday: I would like to take Nathan tubin' for his birthday, if the weather cooperates.

Tonight - order pizza and hang

Tomorrow - zumba in the morning and later DH and I are going to my college roommate's surprise 40th birthday gathering.

Sunday - WW, my brother, DH, the kids and I are having our picture taken in front of my parent's house as a going away present for them (they are retiring to Florida at the end of Sept), if it is warm going back over to their house later to swim.

ETA: Happy Birthday lala!!  32 is still young!
  • Tonight - deck party at work and then home to see my parents - yay! It's been a while since their last visit. Quiet night at home.

Tomorrow - mostly just hang out at home. I need groceries and we'll probably go to the festival at the church near our house in the evening.

Sunday - Brunch and swim lessons. No specific plans after my parents leave, but since we haven't had a full weekend at home in weeks, probably cleaning up some of the piles and cleaning the cat room.

I'm excited for a low key weekend!

I always forget we have young ones on the board. Some of us are celebrating and/or approaching 40. ;-)

Seriously, my 30's have been awesome. You have a lot of great ages to look forward to. I wouldn't go back to my twenties for anything.

I enjoyed both the 20's and 30's, but the 30's went by so incredibly fast!  I feel like just yesterday I was going to everyone's surprise 30th birthday parties, and now I am going to everyone's 40th.

Lala - If it makes you feel better I turned 32 in 2006.  LOL.  Happy Birthday!  Hope it's a good one!

Yup - what Heather and Meghan said! I just turned 40. I'm not gonna lie that it was HARD. I had a lot of other factors happening at the same time, which didn't help matters, but now I'm starting to accept it. But, I will admit that I would not be disappointed if my age stood still now. :)

    My three sons!

  • I don't have anything planned this weekend (big surprise!). We're very boring. It's supposed to be the hottest weekend yet this summer, so it will be filled with grocery shopping, playing in the pool, and cleaning. We get "free electricity Saturdays" right now, so I try to save the laundry and cleaning for then. :) DH will need to cut the lawn, but that should be it.

We're also online shopping for tires for my car and booking our rental for our Ireland trip. Slowly, things are getting done!

I totally agree that my 30's have flown by. I think you come into yourself in your 30s. Currently, I am not dreading 40 much, but ask me again in April and my story may change!  <:-P

Yes, this! Though I'm already planning for February 2016 to be all about ME! Who cares that Heather will be turning 9, turning 40 is much more worthy of celebration!

  • Tonight - make homemade pizza and hang out
Saturday - swim lessons in the morning and game night at my brother's in the evening
Sunday - do some cleaning and dye my hair, how exciting ;-)

We're trying to keep it low key because DH is traveling for work some this week and we're going out of town next weekend. I'm going to be exhausted by the time we get back next Monday!
  • Thanks for all the birthday wishes.  Sorry I highjacked the post.
I know 32 is still young.  I just feel like 32 means I'm really IN the 30's now.  Like, 30 is just next door to the 20's and 31 means your just a little bit in your 30's.  But 32, your really in now.

I feel like life is just flying by.  I'd like to just press pause for a year or two.

Some of us are celebrating and/or approaching 40. ;-)  Been there did that 3 yrs ago!

My DH turns 40 next year so I am already planning a trip away for us - I think the planning and keeping it a secret is more exciting that the actual trip!

Tonite - pool maybe for once in 2 weeks!
Sat - acting camp for Caileigh, running errands and birthday party for my niece tomorrow night
Sunday - Caileigh has rehearsal all day and then "Broadway Spectatular" show Sunday night at McKean Theater so that will be fun!

Seeing the 'age' posts - we were dying in my office a bit ago. There was a student being interviewed for a job (not with us, but we are in a neighboring space). He said that he enjoyed that particular field because his mom had joined it after 'she got her degree late in life at 30'   :D While we all get what he was saying, it was still humorous. If you need me I'll be filling out the info for my cemetery plot since I'm past 'late in life' now, ha!

Never fear...they don't start sending you AARP stuff until you're FIFTY!    ;)   I really don't mind being 40...it doesn't feel any different than when I was in my 30's.  And I've also decided that my 40's are going to focus more on me, since I spent most of my 30's having babies/breastfeeding babies/giving them more than I gave to myself.  I'm losing weight and getting in shape, so I feel like I look better now, too!  What I do mind is seeing things reminding me that if you live to 80, then at 40, you really are starting to be "over the hill" because the next 40 years are on the downward slope of your life.   Womp!  Womp!
  • Watching Sharknado 2 tonight.

I'm sure the rest of the weekend can't top that
