Re: August already

  • Yes summer does seem to be flying by. But so did the spring! I think the older I get the faster things move. I have to go to Maine tomorrow for work. I was suppose to be traveling with one of my coworkers but he bailed. So now I have 8 hour drive to be all by myself. I am not too thrilled and would have flown had I known he was going to stiff me. O well. I leave Tuesday and get back Friday night.

  • Echo - Have fun on vacation!!

Do you get to do anything fun on your work trip, Degrea? Maine sounds nice! The drive does not. I would hate that.

  • Last day of work! I have one of my daycare girls and were camped out in our basement because our main level windows are being replaced.

    8 hours till vacation!
  • hola friends.  Happy one day work week Echo.

I completely agreed I am not sure how it is August already.  That is just crazy talk.  Enjoy your last few weeks jlq

Degrea I hope your Maine trip goes well.  That stinks you are driving all that way by yourself, but I am jealous of you going to Maine!  Its one of the few states I haven't made it to and I really want to! It looks quite lovely (in the summer ha!)

  • A girl?! AAhhhh woohoo!!!!

I'm really really irritated because I just found out TODAY that my PPD's are unacceptable to the school health center and I need to have them redone. Which means they won't be done before school starts, and I could possibly not be able to start the program!!!!
I turned in my physical form and everything to the health center over a week ago, and was just told this today. WHAT THE FUCK. I'm SO pissed!!!!! We're supposed to have all our requirements done by the 11th, and I won't now with the stupid ass PPD's. I am so so so pissed. I swear to god if this keeps me out of the program I will murder someone. Straight up murder someone.

  • Good Morning Girls! I made it safe and sound. No I doubt I will do anything fun in Maine. It is a pretty state in the summer Aggie. I am sure you will make it here some day.

Wohoo a girl! So excited for you!

    Yes Vacation!! Have fun Echo!!

I don't know what a PPD is but I hope whatever it is goes smoothly. Good luck JLQ!

Oh, sorry. A PPD is the shot test you get for TB. They give you a shot in your lower arm right underneath the skin. Then you go back two days later and they "read" it, and if your arm has bubbled up in the spot then it's possible you have TB, and you have to get a chest x-ray to rule it out. If there's no bubble and your skin is just normal than your result is negative.
I have to get this whole process done twice, and my shots must be done 14 days apart. So one today, one on the 20th. Uggghhh.

  • O I remember getting that test done before i went to college. It didn't hurt but I was not a fan. Sorry!

  • I'm just a huge baby when it comes to getting shots.
The good news is that my program director told me that this won't interfere with me starting the program since I'll be done before we go to the hospital for clinical.

  • Yea good news! I don't like needles at all either. I was hospitalized as a child with an IV and ever since than have been terrified of needles. Hate them!

Only one more day in Maine than 8 hours of driving tomorrow and I will be home. I can't wait to get a hug from H!

  • I think I don't like needles because when I was in 6th grade I had to have my appendix out and they took so much blood from me when I was in the hospital that my arm turned green from the bruise. blagh!

I think an 8 hour drive sounds absolutely terrible, and I would punch the dude in the face you backed out and made you go alone.
Next week I'm driving like 5 to go see my bestie in VA and even that sounds terrible to me. hah!

  • We're heading out on what should be a 7.5 hour drive without stops. I'm thinking it'll be like 12 hours after all our stops but praying it'll be just 10.
  • Back home! I would like to donkey punch all drivers from CT and MA. In NY we stay right except to pass. Move over Mother Fuckers!! I made it and plan on not driving anywhere all weekend. Haha. Drive safe echo!

  • Echo - maybe you will come across HitchBot on your trip!!! I saw a news story about it. It's a robot hitchhiking his way across Canada!! I'd totally pick him up!

Degrea - I despise when people ride in the left lane!! The left is for passing douchbags!
