Light spotting

I'm super nervous now even though I know it can occur. We had a big BBQ at our house yesterday and I noticed at the end of the night I had some light pink/brown spot on my underwear. After I saw it I drank a ton of water and sat down for an hour then went straight to bed. Now I feel like I'm on high alert for every twinge, cramp, flutter in my stomach. Should I call the doctor office about this or wait until Monday? Am I overreacting? WWYD?

Re: Light spotting

  • I would do exactly what you did. Keep drinking water and take it easy today. If it gets worse or continues I'd call the doctor tomorrow.

  • If it makes you feel better, I had some light pink spotting after my family reunion a few weeks back. I didn't drink enough water and it was hot, so even though I sat most of the time, it was still stressful on my body. It went away and hasn't come back since. Just take it easy. And like looney said, call if it continues/gets worse.

  • Thanks @sgautschi it does make me feel a little better. I just want the next 3 weeks to fly by so I can feel completely at ease.
I'm really hoping it was just from running around and being on my feet all day.

  • I agree with Looney.  It can be totally normal.  I hope it's nothing!

  • I spotted what seemed like every month of my pregnancy, but learned it's very normal. Like pps said, take it easy (:
  • Have you had any more since then? A little spotting, especially lighter in color and/or brown, is usually totally fine, so long as you're not having cramping and it doesn't get heavier. Hopefully the rest of your weekend was nice and relaxing and there's been no more since Saturday's craziness!

  • As others have said, it is probably totally normal.  I have had first tri spotting with every pregnancy, but if it makes you feell more calm and at ease, just call the doctor and get some reassurance.  No harm in that.  It sounds like you are doing everything right, so try to rest and relaz today mama.

  • Thanks everyone!

I did call the doctor this morning just to have it noted and run it by them. They said it is normal and can happen but not to worry and to call if it happens again.
I did read that it can be from the baby growing and the uterus making more room for it. I am really only feeling pressure or mild dull aches but nothing that I haven't felt since my BFP.

Just now I am more aware of everything since I got nervous. I am hoping I can stay busy with work and try and let the week pass by.
