Hi! Does anyone here have this carrier? I found a plan online for $80/mo for 2 smart phones with unlimited talk, text and 1Gb of data per phone line. There is also a promo out that they will pay your termination fee's with your current carrier if you trade in 2 phones...is this too good to be true?Anyway, what plan do you have with T-Mobile and how do you like it? We currently have Verizon and like it but it costs a lot.
Re: T-Mobile
The thing you have to understand about T Mobile is that they do not offer contracts in exchange for phones. That means that you have to pay for the phone, unlike Verizon where they give you a massive discount or free phone for signing a contract. At T Mobile, you must either find/buy a phone that is compatible for their service, buy a phone from them up right, or sign on to one of their payment plans (interest free). We decided to buy used phones (Google Nexus) through T Mobile's website. It works out to about $10 a month per phone for two years (I think..it may be for just one year). If we would have gone with brand new iPhones, it would have been more like $25 a month per phone, making T Mobile not much cheaper than Verizon. We don't mind having a used phone, and we like to keep our phones forever, so this really works out for us. I like the idea that once our phones are paid off, our bill will only be like $60 or $70 a month. However, if you are the type of person that likes to have the latest and greatest phone, then T Mobile isn't much cheaper than Verizon.
As far as service goes, the T Mobile is not as good as Verizon in rural locations. However, we live in a major city, so that only affects us when we are traveling. Considering that we have work phones with Verizon service that we could use in an emergency, we decided we could take the risk of not having TMobile service while traveling. This is really the only draw back.
Also, I've found that T Mobile has MUCH better customer service in my opinion. We went to a store once and didn't have to wait at all before talking to a rep. At Verizon, I always had to wait at least 30 mins.
ok cool! I got a employer discount with Verizon but probably won't get one with Tmobile, but it will still be a lot cheaper! We pay $123 for 1 smart phone, and 1 dumb phone. Before I downgraded, it was $145 for 2 smartphones with the employer discount.
this sounds great!

I use T-Mobile and I love it. $50/month no contract, free music streaming, and when you travel abroad I believe you can use the texting/data for free...don't remember about talk.
I am one of those people who would rather pay for the phone than for the service, so it made sense to me. I went from paying $50 a month at Verizon for a dumb phone to paying the same monthly amount at T-Mobile plus the cost of the phone. I bought a fairly cheap Nokia Windows phone that I love. It all worked out for me because our monthly phone payment comes out of our joint account, but I used my personal fun money to pay for the phone.
Service can be spotty in rural areas. However, if you are at a location with WiFi, T-Mobile has free wifi calling you can use.
