Re: Monday Accountability Post

  • 1. How MM was your weekend?

So far so good. Everything is right within budget. I used a lot of coupons to help keep under my budget. I bought an outfit for my baby cousin (2 shirts, a pair of shorts to go with said shirts, and two headbands to match) and after my coupon, I only paid $0.96! I was a very happy girl. I also bought 6 yards of fabric for less than $13. I just need to buy velcro now...

    2. Any progress towards goals?
I was able to put away $200 into our payoff account, and an additional $400 into our vacation account.

    3. Any summer goals you want to accomplish?
I have yet to go to the beach. I've been by the water and in a swimming pool, but not the beach. I would like to go to the Cape at some point too, but I know that goal won't happen this summer.

    1. H picked up lots of overtime this weekend so we didn't do much except for Sunday

        Sunday-$40 paddleboarding, $20 lunch

    2. Yes, we started a mortgage principle savings account to help pay down our mortgage faster to get us out from our "underwater status" on this condo so we can move out next year and buy a house. We already pay extra but we really need to boost this until spring time. The condo market sucks where we live.

I also applied for a part time job to help save up more. We also paid 1/2 towards one of the big vet bills that came up, the other half will be paid at the end of the month (with one more bill to go!)

Anyway, we put $425 into the new mortg account, and $200 into vacation

    3. Our summer goals are just to work more and save more. I will also start looking to figure out our options for downsizing our cell phone bill as well as phone/cable/internet.

  • 1. How MM was your weekend?  Not good, money wise.  We had friends in town, who we took to dinner on Friday night (our saving grace here was Groupon), and then proceeded to go to ice cream, get drinks and then brunch the next day.  Fortunately, for this two week budget cycle, we had an extra $200 in the miscellaneous category.  It was totally worth it, but definitely not a MM weekend.

    2. Any progress towards goals?  Nope, all this happens at the end of the month.

    3. Any summer goals you want to accomplish?  We are on track to pay off the new AC and furnace we had installed in May by September.  Then, we'll be able to put that extra toward my student loan with the goal to have it paid off in the next 6-12 months.

  • Our weekend was pretty good. $12 out for breakfast Saturday morning. And $7 for a new lightbulb at Home Depot Sunday. Didn't get groceries though, so I have to do that today.

Got a list of final documents our lender needs and got most of th sent off. 2 have to be scanned so dh is doing that at work today.

Summer goal would be to get moved with no more drama! I hate this limbo and just want to be moved out!!!!

  • 1. Good! I did some diving but packed food so I didn't buy anything but gas. H bought a burger for his friend who helped install our dishwasher.

    2. Not this week. I will be cash-flowing a filling tomorrow and we will go out to eat for our anniversary.

    3. I have some non-MM goals: continue my half marathon training and get the house unpacked! @smbenevides1989‌ I am also bummed that it's going to be a Cape-less summer. Next year!
  • 1. How MM was your weekend? I was on Vacation last week, but did REALLY well. Stuck to my budget and still had money leftover to throw back into that envelope!

    2. Any progress towards goals? My promotion went through while I was out and was effective yesterday. I got a 15% raise and am out from under a not-so-awesome boss. So that will increase my snowball(and retirement savings) that much faster!

    3. Any summer goals you want to accomplish? I do everything quarterly, so by the end of September(Q3) I want to go through my clothes yet again and pair them down. I have entirely TOO many clothes. I also want to be completely organized and unpacked from my move this summer by then.

Financially, no. I just want to get my car loan down to four figures by the end of the year which I am on track to do.

Not bad for being a busy weekend.  Spent about $25 on eating out, $10 on baby clothes, $50 on groceries, and $15 on car maintenance.
    2. Any progress towards goals?
We took a deposit from someone on H's car. So that should be gone by the weekend and it means $7k of debt we get to shade in, and the guy gave us full asking price on it.  So it will cover the cost of H's "cash" car, to put new tires on it, and do the maintenance work it needed.
    3. Any summer goals you want to accomplish?  Train for and complete my 2nd half marathon of the year, while being 5 months pregnant.  So far it's going well, but the training is starting to kick my butt more now that we're up to longer distances.

pretty good, related to question 3 I've been on a mission this summer to get the house really organized, so I spent $60 at walmart on shelving
Friday: $60 walmart, $130 grocery store (includes supplies to make a birthday cake for my friends little girl)
Saturday: $87 Kohl's (I had 30% off and a $10 coupon and shopped the clearance rack...3 new work outfits and a new outfit to wear to my birthday dinner next weekend!)
$18 double feature at the drive-in
Sunday:$16 2 large buckets of balls at the driving range
    $3.50 2 small ice creams

    2. Any progress towards goals?
H has been a little hard to get back on the debt tackling boat after we finished paying off credit cards earlier this year.  I've finally convinced him that we need to reboot and get serious about student loans again.
    3. Any summer goals you want to accomplish?
I keep working on the organizing...the office and basement are next on my list.

  • 1 - Friday we spent $18 on dinner
         Saturday we spent 0
Sunday we spent $35 on dinner

2 - Yep - I made $350 in gigs last week - 1/3 went to my business account, 1/3 went to retirement and the other 1/3 went to replenish the e fund.

3 - Summer is almost over :(  I just need to get thru 4 more weddings this month and I would call it successful.  We have more goals for the Fall.

  • 1. How MM was your weekend? $7 buck on cheap beer. Nothing else.

    2. Any progress towards goals? Not this week. Big things next week though!

    3. Any summer goals you want to accomplish? Just finish getting textbooks for classes in the fall. I am really overwhelmed and I am a huge planner so getting things 100% in order will hopefully calm my nerves.

  • 1. How MM was your weekend? Pretty good- groceries ($110), more clapboards ($300)

    2. Any progress towards goals? One of our CDs was up at our bank, so I cashed it out and moved it to a credit union- 1.15% for 12 months.. not great obviously, but we want that $ readily available in case so it was the best we could do. DH decided we should replace more clapboards on the one side of our house so we got a bunch more.. not really planned for, but it's good just to keep the new ones going.

    3. Any summer goals you want to accomplish? Clapboard replacement is almost done, DD#1's birthday is all set for Sunday, and we haven't had to dip into savings for anything with DH being home. I've also been able to take Fridays off of work to spend time with the family so that's been great.

  • 1. How MM was your weekend? Not too good, went off of my FIL's plan so went from $80 in cell phone to $125.  I also upgraded my phone to a new 4G smart phone which was $176.  Had to dip into savings.  Also, this month we have $112 starting for pre-school.

    2. Any progress towards goals? Not this week, have to re-balance our budget with the higher cell phone plan, the pre-school tuition, and upping the amount we give MIL to babysit to $625 from $600 since we are no longer paying ILs $80 for our cell phones.

    3. Any summer goals you want to accomplish? I would like to spend some more time out hiking but it is hard with a pregnant wife and 3 year old toddler when even in sandals I out walk all of them.

this doesn't make sense to me, wasn't the $80 you we paying them theoretically just reimbursing them for your portion of their plan?
