I had the most frustrating day trying to do laundry yesterday. My washer worked totally fine for a load Saturday and a load Sunday. Then the second load went in, and a shitty afternoon fighting with my washer ensued.
First of all, the washer continued cycling past where it should have stopped. So instead of doing it's rinse and spin cycle and then ending, the timer kept on ticking right into a new wash cycle (although it didn't actually fill...the timer just kept running). During the rinse and spin cycle, it never spun. It drained (I think incompletely, because shaking the drum produced slight sloshing sounds, although I couldn't see any water left), and the clothes were left in a soggy pile at the bottom of the drum rather than having all the excess water spun out. After fighting with the washer, I ended up wringing out every piece of clothing so it wasn't sopping wet going into the dryer. I tried another small was cycle, and the same thing happened.
I have a GE top load washing machine, no clue how old it is. I found this video on YouTube, that I'm HOPING is our answer to fixing the issue. Just wondering if anyone else has dealt with something like this/how you fixed it.

I can't be dealing with an unreliable/busted washing machine at this point! I have a ton of baby stuff still to wash, and with planning to CD, the washer is going to need to keep working for all those loads!

Re: NGPR: Washing Machine Help
And by "new one" I mean H's grandmother's from the '70s. It works like a charm, though!
Any chance you have a warranty?
If we have a transmission problem, I'm going to cry. DH tried a master reset of the machine last night (apparently washers also have on-board computers!), and that didn't work.
Maybe I should start scouring my FB yard sale pages. I've seen a few washers posted in the past, and at least it'd be cheaper than a brand new one right now!
