Some evidence of what a little paint can do! Pictures are in this order:
Before: Second bedroom
After: Second bedroom (with nasty carpet taken out!! We found hardwoods under half of it...)
Before: Master bedroom
After: Master bedroom (also with nasty carpet taken out!)
Before: Small office/third bedroom
After: Small office/third bedroom
Before: Living room
After: Living room
Currently: Our laundry closet door... we are replacing it so we didn't bother to paint it. But that's the old paint color (same as the living room!) next to the new paint color. I think it was 100% worth it!
H and I both lean toward "cool" colors. All of these colors (both the befores and afters) read a bit darker in real life than they do in the photos below. The second bedroom is porcelain blue, the master is light green, the little office is an off-white, and the living room is actually a taupe (though the photos look yellow here for some reason).
This house doesn't have a ton of natural light, so we really needed to go for lighter colors. Previously, every room felt a bit like a cave because the paint colors throughout were just too dark. If we had better light we would have probably picked some bolder colors. But we are happy with how this turned out, and we'll add some bold colors in our fabrics, etc. when it comes time to decorate.

Love the colors you chose! Definitely a huge improvement over the bold color choices the previous owners used.
FI and I are in the process of slowly repainting our house as well. We don't get lot of natural light either and our previous owners used a lot of dark colors. And neon green in our staircase for some reason (it's about as awful as it sounds). The rooms we've done so far, we've chosen nice, light, cool colors in order to make the rooms brighter and more open-feeling. We're going to use bolder colors in our accent pieces as well.
