Re: QOTD 8/12

  • I liked Dead Poets Society, but honestly, I found him to be a very annoying actor.

  • Aladdin.  Genie is one of my favorite cartoon characters.
  • Mrs. Doubtfire was great!  I liked a lot of the movies he was in.

He was a brilliant actor, comedic genius, Juilliard-attending, genuinely good person.  Hyper, yes.  But in a world of Kardashians, I'd take someone like him any day.  This is the first time I've ever been really sad about a celebrity death, it's weird.

That said, The Birdcage.  But I also grew up loving Mrs. Doubtfire, Aladdin, Mork & Mindy, etc.  What Dreams May Come is good, but dark.

I read a LOT of celeb gossip blogs (not proud) and he was one guy who no one ever had anything bad to say about him.

  • I've gotta say Aladdin.  Also a big fan of Good Will Hunting.
  • H and I were so sad when the news came across our iPhones last night. He was a big part of my favorite childhood movies..Aladdin, Mrs. Doubtfire, Hook, I must have watched each of those a million times! I also remember watching reruns of Mork and Mindy on Nick at Nite. It saddens me that the person who made millions laugh was fighting a private battle of depression.

  • I normally don't get sad about celebrity death either, but I was truly sad last night when I found out.

Loved Mrs. Doubtfire and Aladdin.  I was so excited for a Mrs. Doubtfire sequal!

  • I had a sinking feeling this was going to be the QOTD.

I found out last night while I was at work and I'm shocked my labmate didn't hear me yelling, "what?! No!!" at my phone screen.

Aladdin was one of my absolute favorites as a kid. My way of paying tribute on FB was a YouTube clip of the song "Friend Like Me". I had danced to it the one year for recital and it was always a favorite because we got to channel our inner comedian.

I was also a big fan of Mrs. Doubtfire and Jumanji. I never really watched Mork & Mindy as a kid, but I remembered the episode where he appeared in character on Happy Days. It was weird with him passing realizing how much stuff he's been in that I've totally forgotten about over the years.

  • I also loved Aladdin, but I was a huge fan of Jack and I really liked him in One Hour Photo, even though it wasn't his typical role in any way, shape, or form.

  • ^^^I've never seen One Hour Photo but my maiden name is the same as the family in it.  The spelling is different though.

  • I was really sad when I found out too. I'm not one to get sad with celebrity news, but this one shook me.

I would say probably Aladdin, jumanji. He was so versatile that I liked most everything he was in.
