We're heading to Idlewild on Friday. I can't wait.

We're taking an extra bag with us b/c of the water park, although we may not be able to take advantage of it b/c it's only supposed to be in the high 70s on Friday.

Do you recommend getting a locker or dragging the bag around with us? We'll have G's McLaren stroller which doesn't have a very large cargo basket, but should be able to accommodate a backpack.

Also, G is still napping - will they allow reentry? I couldn't find anything on their site regarding that. I was thinking we could go when they open, enjoy a few hours, take him back to the hotel to nap, then return around dinner time.

Any tips?

Re: Idelwild Questions

  • We leave the swim bag in the car until we need it. Usually we park in the C lot and Tim just runs up to get it before soak zone. I'm assuming you can re enter as long as you have a ticket, but I'm not 100% sure.

  • We left lunch items in our car and took them out between storybook forest and the rest of the park. You pay at the entrance of the park and drive in, so you can go back and forth between your car anytime.

We went there for the 1st time recently and loved it. DD slept in her stroller for 2 hours. There are little nooks and cranies around the park that you can have peace and quiet. It was shaded too.

We started with Storybook forest when it opens, then got lunch out of the car, cleaned up and then when to the Junggle area. She started getting fussy so we worked on a nap. She woke up two hours later and she was a happy camper. We then went to the kiddie park side.

    You'll love it!

  • I think the last time we went we got a locker near the water area so when we were ready to swim our stuff was there & then we put it in the car after that.

On going back to hotel - just check the park hours, I seem to recall not all the areas are open late so it may be worth it just to let him nap in his stroller at the park (my kids always did) and then you are still there to start up again.  Lots of shady spots in the kiddie area - or on the train.

  • Same as others.  We don't usually do the water stuff, but it's pretty easy to get back to your car to grab what you may need.  Not sure about leaving the park.  Our kids just napped in the stroller.  Storybook Forest closes before the rest of the park so you may want to do that earlier in the day.

  • Thanks all! G seems to only nap in sleeping spaces or the car, sigh. He has never fallen asleep in his high chair, on the couch, etc. I just don't want him to get super cranky b/c he's refused to nap...which he probably will anyway. I think the only way we could get him to nap is to remove him from the park. We'll see.

    Thanks for the info!

  • You are allowed to leave and come back in.  You have to get your hand stamped.  This is from the website.
Guests who leave the Park and plan to return must get their hands stamped before they leave the Park at the exit/re-entry gate. When guests return to the Park, they must enter through the re-entry gate with a proper hand stamp.
  • Thanks! I looked all over and couldn't find it.
