Weekly Workouts

Re: Weekly Workouts

  • Last week was great! 4 30 DS workouts : )

This week, not so much : (  I wasn't feeling good Mon and Tues, today I have a Drs appointment and I'm not sure that I'll get in a workout before I have to leave, so I'm definitely hoping to get in 30 DS workouts on Thurs and Fri  and maybe a yoga workout over the weekend.

  • Great! H and I walked 3.5 miles on Sunday and Monday and plan to do some laps today at the pool. I will try to get in at least one more long walk this week.

  • I got my bike back!!!  Going for a ride tonight after work.  Have been walking when I can this week, but it's been really rainy.

This kinda workout related.  Back in May I received these gorgeous cobalt blue skinny jeans from stitch fix in a size which I won't say but I couldn't get them on.  The buttons were so far apart they were in different continents.  It was a day before my birthday and I felt gross and terrible.  That's when I kind of revamped our whole eating style, which wasn't that bad but could have been better, started working out, drinking more water, etc.  Now, I don't weigh myself bc I had an eating disorder previously, and I get crazy obsessive about the number and just can't handle it.  So I use my clothes to gauge how I'm doing.  Every 4 weeks since May I have tried these jeans on and over the weekend, FINALLY, I got them buttoned!!!!  They're too tight to wear comfortably, but I'm getting there.

(ps have you guys heard of Stitch Fix?  It's amazing.  Here' my referral link, if you're interested http://www.stitchfix.com/referral/3352409.)

  • ^^ That's great!

I have a pair of pants that I've been doing that with too! They've gone from buttoning, but WAY too uncomfortable to just being a little tight in the butt. I haven't tried them on in the past few weeks to see if they're appropriate to wear in public, but I'll try them on this weekend!

I've heard of Stitch Fix because almost all of the bloggers I read use it. Maybe when I get a job and have some extra $, I'll give it a try. I'm really picky about clothes and most of the bloggers i read have said that you have to give it a few months so that they get to know your style and understand your feedback better. Have you kept most of the clothes that they send?

  • I let my clothes situation get really abysmal in law school, I was just schlubbing around the law library in yoga pants for 3 years and looked like a trash can.  So I decided to use Stitch Fix to invest in a grown-up wardrobe.

I've had 4 fixes and kept 2 pairs of jeans, one jacket, a purse, and a tank top so far.  It does take a fix or two to get your style, but I have to say my last 2 fixes have been fantastic, and well worth the $20 styling fee.  It can be pricey depending on what you set your price points to, but I think of it as paying for a service, since a stylist is hand-picking items for me.  What I love is that she picks things I'd never try on in a store, but once I get them I love them.  Plus they send you styling cards suggesting how to put outfits together, which I really desperately need.

I don't have time to shop much anymore and I hate dressing rooms, so I just put all my clothing budget money aside for Stitch Fix and it's worked really well for me.  The first month I thought even if I hated everything they sent, I only blew $20, so I might as well give it a shot.  I only kept a purse (sizing issues) which was $42, so with the $20 styling fee they put towards that, it only cost me an extra $22.  In a tight month, maybe I'll only keep one thing,  but it's still so fun.  And I figure I'm going to probably buy at least one clothing item a month so why not have someone pick it out for me from quality designers I can't get here in Indiana.

  • I'm had to take off all of last week from Tuesday until Sunday because I got a sinus infection.  It sucked and I'm still not 100% yet.  I had planned working out Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, but didn't make it last night.  I had a huge headache and actually went back to the doctor to get a steroid shot because I still felt crappy.  Luckily, I was able to come in late to work this morning so I could get a workout in.

We have our family float trip starting today, so I won't be able to work out again until Sunday.  I'm hitting it hard next week!
