  • 1. How MM was your weekend?

Not entirely bad. I'm right within budget in a lot of areas, but I got a little happy and bought some clothes for myself earlier than expected.

Friday: French fries and a drink $2.00 cash

Saturday: I went out with my mom, DD and niece, so I split the cost of fast food, $5 cash; bought some craft supplies at Michael's craft store, $5; returned some things at Walmart, $22 back in cash; and bought some clothes at Kohl's that I was planning to buy in October, $140 charged. I will be paying it all back with my allowance and clothes budget, but it should only take me 2 months to pay it back (which I'm not worried about).

Sunday: A new leash and harness for our pup, some in cash from Saturday's returns and the rest on my debit: $27

    2. Any progress towards goals?

Just the usual $10/weekly into the Christmas and DD's accounts. I'm waiting until DH's paycheck this week to put in a good amount.

    3. If your house was on fire and you could only grab 3 things, what would they be?

     - My family and dog

     - my safe

     - My photo albums

  • Out weekend was ok. Saturday we spent $60 eating out twice. Then a trip to target getting some stuff for the new house (cartwheel and home decor coupons expired that day so I had to use them!) that trip was about $200, but $40 was gift cards, and it was all budgeted so I don't feel too bad about it.
Looked ahead at our upcoming budget for after we get into the house. It's going to be a lot tighter than we are used to because we will have a mortgage again, but it will be worth it. We are trying to figure out ways we can save on 'must have' bills like cell and cable/internet so we have more wiggle room in our budget. It's depressing to look at our budget and know that $170 every month goes to out cell phones and there actually isn't much we can do about it. (Moving to a small town where our current provider is the only one that has good service) The big unknown is property taxes. It will be great when we can claim the homestead exemption and know what the house is actually appraised for because right now to be on the cautious side we are putting away 1k each month for property taxes. It makes me sick just typing that! Once we know that I think our budget will be great and that extra will go towards getting the loan paid in under 10 years.
First thing I would grab in a house fire is my son. Second would probably be the diaper bag so I have what I need for him and my wallet. Third would be either the photo albums or the backup drive where we store all our digital pics so we don't lose all the memories even though we lose the stuff.

  • 1. Friday: I spent about $57 on groceries, SO spent $5 to go toward his work's event fund so he got to dress down on Friday. Saturday: I spent $10 on bins at the Dollar Store to organize our pantry. Sunday: We spent $60 at Target for school supplies and a new water filter for our sink. Now we have to return it because we pulled it out of the box only to find that someone had obviously took the new one out of the box and replaced it with their old model! It was disgusting! We also spent $45 on dinner out after not eating out for a few weeks (we used to have a problem with this before). 2. We have consolidated all of our debt down to one payment at a much lower interest rate, so that will be a lot easier for us and cheaper in the long run. 3. Assuming my SO was able to get out on his own I would focus on getting the pets out. We have three cats and a dog, but it wouldn't be hard to grab all of them. I wouldn't be worried about our safes because they are fire proof, and that is where 99% of all of our important documents are kept.

  • 1. How MM was your weekend? Okay. Spent $87 on groceries. $20 at Chick-fil-a. $50 on sending sympathy flowers for a friend who passed away due to cancer.

    2. Any progress towards goals? Just the usual.

    3. If your house was on fire and you could only grab 3 things, what would they be?

              1. My family/dog

               2. Purse/wallet so that I would have ID.

               3. laptop.

  • 1. Friday - about 40 total between ALS ice water challenge donation DH did, a pack of beer, and this adorable pair of baby cowboy boots i got for the baby.
Saturday - 25 on groceries, 22 on dog food, and 7 dollars at target after the gift card. maternity clothes on clearance tho - score.
Sunday- nothing - so long as you don't count the 60-80 dollar pair of DH's favorite pants i decided to ruin by leaving a pen in the pocket when i washed it. I haven't told him yet... i think its going to have to go something like "heres 80 bucks" lol. He's been babying those pants making sure they don't get dirty plus I took laundry rights away from him because he got ink all over both our clothes. I think i failed. So i gotta let him replace them.  Note to self: When you see an ink stain just leave it be - i just made it twice as bad and stained my hands blue trying to get them out.

    2. Well the extra 100 overtime will go toward savings so i guess thats "progress"

     3. My husband and 2 dogs - and my portable harddrive that has all our pictures on it.

Not bad. $60 Ikea, $25 eating at Ikea, $6 coffee, $11 coffee (for H and I) and Timbits (for us and the kids). All was planned however we expected to purchase more at Ikea so we were under budget.

    2. Any progress towards goals?
A few months ago we had our house/auto insurance policies updated and rewrote. We got a refund check from our insurance company - so $300 went into savings.

    3. If your house was on fire and you could only grab 3 things, what would they be?

    Assuming family is out:
    our cats
    our wedding pictures
    purse/wallet
We have two safes and H has them strategically placed in our home so that they could be easily and quickly removed during or after a fire (the joys of being married to a fire fighter).

forgot! I did the ice bucket challenge and donated $25....we budget about $400 a year for charities, I didn't do the century rides I usually do this summer so right now we've still got money in there.

    1. How MM was your weekend? It was DD#1's birthday on Sunday so we spent the weekend getting ready for that. Have leftovers so we aren't getting groceries until today. DD#1 made $200- that will go into her savings account (separate from her 529 plan). She has a little over $1,900 in there- more than some adults!  :)

    2. Any progress towards goals? Nothing new. The new clapboards are all up- look great. DH is doing some final things before school starts and then we'll start saving for the upstairs bathroom gut next summer.

    3. If your house was on fire and you could only grab 3 things, what would they be? My girls, my husband, my computer (has all of our pictures on it- we have them backed up too). If people aren't allowed to be part of this list, then our computer, my rings (DH always wears his, but I usually have mine off at home), and our camera. Our lock box is supposed to be fire safe so that should be ok to leave.

Not great.  We were on vacation for the past 9 days, so not a great MM week/weekend at all!

    2. Any progress towards goals?
Reached our first goal of getting $1000 in savings.  Now we're onto baby step #2, pay down debt.  Debt was reduced by $300!  We expect to make some good strides on debt now that we aren't contributing to savings.

    3. If your house was on fire and you could only grab 3 things, what would they be?
Pets.  DH has two legs, so he can walk.  I really don't have anything else that I value.  I'm either wearing it, or it breathes.  Everything else can be replaced.

  • 1) Not good, I was playing single dad Friday, Saturday, and Sunday and wasn't allowed home because wife working or not feeling well.  I did make my son use his allowance money on Sunday when we went to the zoo.

    2) We got a $730 check from escrow since we had to pay our home taxes for a half year last year.  We are putting $300 towards MW's student loans and the rest is to go to savings for Christmas.

    3) Since we have insurance, the biggest thing I would save besides wife and child is my lap top, keys, and wallet since they all sit together in one area.
