tmobile- is it worth it?

We are looking at switching- anybody have tmobile? If we went in on a plan with my sister it would be 3 phones for $90- so it would cut our phone bill in half. We live in a 'very strong' service area according to their website, but when we looked at DH's work phone at the new house today (and we only looked once, will need to pay more attention before we switch) we had 2 bars of service. We are moving to a more rural location from where we live now, and currently have verizon which has been good, but paying off the new house is more of a priority to us that having excellent service. However, I do need a usable cell phone.
I'm thinking about switching for a month, just to check it out. Our phones supposedly all transfer- so it would only cost us each $10 for a sim card. Has anybody tried them, or do you have them currently?
I know these posts pop up a bit, so I'm sorry for the repetition, but I don't think this has been asked in a while.
Thanks!

Re: tmobile- is it worth it?

  • We have t-mobile and don't have too many problems.  Honestly, the only issue has been the lack of service, but I don't think that is really an issue anymore.  So many places share towers now, so it isn't a big deal for us.  I like the sim card because if you switch phones, you just take out the card and put it into the new phone.
  • There was another post about T-Mobile on this board about a month ago.  You may want to go back and try to find it for more responses.

I switched from Verizon to T-Mobile, and I'm loving it.  However, we live in a big city and thus have great service.  It probably wouldn't be worth it when you move to the more rural area.
  • Thanks I will have to get in the computer to look for it. Searching on mobile doesn't work very well for me ever!

  • I switched to tmobile when DH and I got married.  He has been on it forever!  No complaints from me.  Super affordable plans.

  • Depending on how rural is rural, you could have issues.
  • I had T-mobile for 8 years and switched to Verizon for an iPhone.  Both services have been good.  My dad lives in a rural area and I got great signal when I visited.  There was only one instance that I can remember not have service and it was in a very small rural town, but that was 5 years ago.
