Fall TV

Just trying to continue the post explosion from yesterday!  =)

Now that it's back to school time, that means that a new season of TV will be starting soon!

What shows are you looking forward to starting up again?

What new shows are you looking forward to seeing?

Re: Fall TV

  • I am looking forward to Parenthood and Grey's Anatomy (I just can't quit that show!).  I am also looking forward to Survivor.

I haven't heard about any new shows, but I'm hoping that there are some good ones!

  • Looking forward to coming back:

    Grey's Anatomy (I'm with you - I can't quit it!)
    The League
    American Horror Story
    The Goldberg's

New shows - I can't say there are a ton I'm eager to see. Maybe the "How to Get Away With Murder" one....
  • Like you, I also can't seem to quit Grey's no matter how many sharks it may jump, so I will be watching :)  I'm sad that it's the last season of Parenthood, but anxious to see what they do since they at least know they have to wrap it up!

I'm probably most excited for the return of Scandal (and Scott Foley) and I'm going to give Shonda's new show, how to get away with murder, a try.

I haven't watched DWTS in years, but one of my absolute favorite SYTYCD dancers (Allison for other fans of the show) is going to be a pro, so depending on who the "stars" are, I may tune in just to watch her dance (because she is THAT good!)

I'm kind of blanking on what else we watch, I feel like it's been forever.  Oh, we watch Castle.  And Shark Tank is our guilty pleasure/we don't have energy to do anything else on a friday night show.  whatever real housewives comes into rotation in the fall I will watch.  And Modern Family, love that show!

There is my dissertation on fall TV.  you're welcome.

  • Scandal! I just watched it over the summer and am all caught up!

I really don't watch much tv anymore. Pretty much just Grey's and parenthood.

I don't know much about new shows. The only one I've seen something about is Shonda's new one which I am sure I will try since she sucks me into shows!

  • Scandal, Grey's, Castle! I'll probably pick up Shonda's new show. It's already getting good reviews and now it's playing in the Grey's/Scandal Thursday time slot.

  • Grey's, The Mentalist, and I honestly can't remember what else at this point...have to check my DVR.  I do have to mention for anyone who is looking for a new show (and liked shows like The OC and Gossip Girl...my personal guilty pleasure shows) Finding Carter has completely and totally sucked me in.  It is on currently and is an MTV show so I'm not sure how those run, if it's just a summer thing or what, but you can catch up on demand.

  • Oh! I forgot the Blacklist - good call Kris!
  • Big Bang Theory, The Good Wife, Agents of SHIELD, and Parenthood are my favorites. I’m also looking forward to Doctor Who, Modern Family, and Glee. I’m thankful that my DVR can remember all of my shows so I don’t have to, because I’m pretty sure there are others that I’m not thinking of...

I might give Madam Secretary a watch. And the new comedy with Casey Wilson from SNL. I listened to the PG reporter podcast about new fall shows a few months back and there was nothing new that I was super excited about.

  • The only new show I want to check out is Gotham.

I gave up on pretty much everything I watched last year, so I don't really have any returning shows that I'm super excited about. I'm sure I'll continue to watch Grey's, but that's more out of the fact that I watched for years and years, than actual excitement for the show.

We have slowly been watching shows through Netflix, but I'm watching very little current television if it's not a cartoon.

  • I will be watching Nashville, Parenthood and Scandal. As far as new shows go, I'm not quite sure yet.

  • I'm not sure about any new shows.  I think I may add "How to get away w/Murder" because I like that style.  Or I may skip it and hope it is On Demand when I am home on maternity leave.

DH refuses to watch new shows until they are in their 2nd or 3rd season.  He's still bitter that a show called "Invasion" ended after 1 season....regardless of the fact that it was on before we were even married, nearly 9 years ago!!!

We'll DVR the Blacklist, Greys (for the same reason as all of you) and I'll watch Scandal and Parenthood on my own.  I'm not a huge game-show reality person, other than the Amazing Race, but I will sometimes DVR Dancing with the Stars for those times when I'm cleaning or cooking and need something mindless.  Normally I go to the Real Housewives of wherever for that (NJ is STILL not ON Demand....), but I try not to have that on when S is in the room...
  • Dena---how annoying it is that you can't get Jersey anywhere??  I don't get it, you can watch nearly any of their other shows online right now but no episodes of Jersey.  so annoying.  that's my favorite lunch break past time, I heat up my lunch, shut my door to my office and watch the drama unfold for the next hour!

  • Dh and I got sucked into that show where the dead people come back...but I can't remember the name...

  • Dena - my husband loved Invasion. He recently bought it on DVD and re watched the whole season. He got annoyed all over again that it was cancelled. :-)

Haha!  I'm pretty sure DH wouldn't watch again based purely on principle.  I think he needs to let it go!

I KNOW!  I didn't even realize they HAD a RHO Melbourne and even that is available On Demand!
  • Dena, I'm totally on board with your husband. How to get away with murder is only getting the pass bc Shonda's shows have good track records. I'm usually bitter when my shows get cancelled after a season.

I still can't think about "reunion" without feeling resentful.

Ugh, yes "reunion" and more recently SMG playing twin sisters in "ringer"
  • I love TV but when I comes down to it don't watch that many shows.

Amazing Race, Parks and Rec, The Middle and Modern Family are favorites.  We are now getting into the Goldbergs.  I'm interested in the new show Blackish, hopefully it is another great family comedy like the others we enjoy watching.

I'm also a sucker for cheesy reality shows Undercover Boss and What Would you Do.

I feel this way about a show called October Road that was on like 5 or 6 years ago. There was a HUGE cliffhanger at the end and then they canceled it. I NEED TO KNOW WHO THE KID'S DAD IS!!!! Lol :)

We really love the Goldbergs!  Looks like they are moving it to the Wednesday line up.  Wednesday should be a good night of tv.

They filmed an ending to this show!  It's only about 10 minutes, but it ties everything up.  It's on You Tube.
