NOTD Thurs - N, O, P (hopefully not E)

Hopefully these won't be too abominable for everyone, but if so.. oh well. It's hard to not repeat "normal" names so I have to go a bit off the beaten path at times. :)

Girls:

Natalie - Meaning of Natalie: "birthday of the Lord" Origin of Natalie: French variation of Russian Natalia

Olesia - Origin of Olesia: Polish, diminutive of Aleksandra

Priscilla - Meaning of Priscilla: "ancient" Origin of Priscilla: Latin, diminutive of Prisca

Boys:

Nolan - Meaning of Nolan: "champion" Origin of Nolan: Irish

Omri - Meaning of Omri: "my sheaf" Origin of Omri: Hebrew

Parker - Meaning of Parker: "park-keeper" Origin of Parker: English occupational name

T-TTC since Dec 2008. PCOS/nonexistant cycles(anovulation) and endo. HSG in '10 revealed both tubes blocked. Lap surgery in Dec '10 to correct. Failed Clomid/IUI and injectable(Bravelle)/IUI cycles so far.

  • The only one I love is Natalie, but a good friend used it so we won't use it. The rest are ok for someone else's kid, just nms.

  • I love Parker. I think @MRads‌ does, too. If I could get H on board I'd use that in a heartbeat.

  • Natalie is a very pretty name but I don't know if I would use it because it ends with the "e" sound and so does our last name. We will see... I might bring it up to DH ;-)

Parker is a handsome name in my book.  I like it.

  • I hate the name Parker. Everyone I've known is a naughty little shit.

    Nolan is okay.

Natalie is nice, but I don't love it enough to attempt to add it to our list.

Omari reminds me of The Indian in the Cupboard. But no on using it.

Iglesias and Priscilla are no. And I'm leaving that auto correct as proof no know should use Olesia.

    Olesia - NMS, but pretty.

Priscilla - No. All I can think of is the movie Priscilla, Queen of the Desert.

    Nolan - NMS.

    Omri - Nope.

Parker - I like this name, but am not sure about DH.

Oh that's right! I knew it was something similar. We're still cool ;)

  • Natalie - okay, but not really our style
Olesia - I knew a girl in college with this name. She was stunning, but I think it'd be weird to use the name since I think people would think we were naming our kid after her...
    Priscilla - meh

Nolan - Too many students/kids of friends, but it's an okay name
Omri - Cool, but not our style
Parker - is a last name
TTC #1 since Feb. '12. dx: "unexplained" IF

  • I like Natalie, but it doesn't make our list (also, DH's cousin's name, so he'd refuse to use it anyway).
Olesia is nice, but not for us.
Ditto Priscilla (I like other "P" names better)

Nolan is fine, but not our style
Omri is a little too different for me (and I like different usually!)
Parker is fine for someone else; I'm not a fan of most "occupational" (ie, last) names
