eBay question

Anybody sell on eBay and have a seller open a case?

Ugh! I don't sell much. A couple things last year and a few this year. I bought a swimsuit from jcrew that was final sale and had luck reselling something similar last year so tried again this year.

It wasn't selling so I reduced my price and still didn't sell. After the listing closed someone messages me that she would buy if I reduced it a little more. It sold for $13 so not much. I was already losing money and paid shipping but I figured at least I was getting something.

Today she opened a case that the color in the pictures didn't match and wants to return. It was really hard to get accurate coloring. I specifically put in the color name in my description and to refer to jcrew.com for accurate color description. I also put no returns in my listing.

Ugh!!! I feel like I should win since I had a disclaimer (you can search jcrew for the color and several things come up) and don't accept returns but I hear ebay pretty much always sides with the buyer. Right now I just sent her a message back so it hasn't gone to resolution yet.

So annoyed! If I have to return it I am out the original shipping which ticks me off since I specifically reduced my price for this girl! I was taking a loss just to get it off my hands and now this!

Anyways, kind of a vent but wondering if anyone has experience.

Re: eBay question

  • My husband is selling collectibles on ebay and just had a negative experience. He shipped his item, the buyer got it and then 3.5 weeks later (just before the deadline to 'dispute') - the guy came back and said the item was broken in multiple places and he wanted his money back. DH contacted ebay because it just seems off and they basically said to file a claim with the post office since he took out insurance:/ Very frustrating.
