  • I am so ashamed to admit this one, but here goes. A coworker of mine is going to be taking her PMP (Project Management Professional) exam soon. I took it recently and passed on my first try. Not to toot my own horn, but 90% of applicants fail the first time. My confession is that a small, petty, selfish part of me kind of hopes she fails the first time. I know. I am an awful person. She is very nice, but kind of a dingbat and I feel like her passing the first time would diminish my accomplishment. I am awful.

Hooray!  That's probably what I'll do one day (maybe Management).  When someone will pay for it.

  • Barnes and Noble hooked up with Google Express. Same day delivery of all the books. For FREE. I'm obsessed. It is very very dangerous.

  • I google my former company to see if the CEO has gotten in trouble with the SEC every so often.  It's coming.  Today, from the jist of the articles I saw, I don't think he's going to be able to deflect it much longer.

I got out just in time.

I do the EXACT same thing with my old company.  And every time something terrible happens to them, I gloat a little bit.

I feel bad for most of my coworkers that are left.  They're the ones deflecting the questions about the jerk CEO.

  • I got glutened last night, so I've been spending the day in bed in a lot of pain and just generally worn out.
I found out I can link youtube to my tv in the bedroom, so what have I done with my day?
I'm watching review videos of different LEGO sets and getting excited about this year's winter village set.
Totally a good use of my time.
I couldn't be working on writing or anything.

  • DH is returning from Boston tonight. I'm happy to see him and it will be nice to have someone to help with kids again but the other part of me wishes I could keep doing whatever I want every night. (Mostly just not cooking much and laying in bed reading) Since I've had kids I found out I like my alone time a LOT more.

I'm super annoyed that I reminded him about Mike's Pastry. He was eating dinner across the street so he got a cannoli from there and texted me a picture of it. He can't bring one to me on the plane. I know he meant well but I spent the entire day and evening irrationally pissed about not getting one of my favorite foods. Don't "tease" me about food.

I'm in an overall crabby mood; he doesn't have a choice about traveling a bunch now but I'm the one with major wanderlust and am perpetually stuck here at the moment. I don't feel like I can bring this up without him feeling like I'm attacking his new job that he worked so hard to get in order to benefit our family.

I'm in a similar situation.  I took my PHR and passed on my first try.  It has like 58% pass ratio and I'm kind of hoping one of my coworkers fails and it makes me feel terrible.

  • @cnthrdlywt2bwZ‌ I can totally relate with almost everything you posted, except we don't have kids yet.

The best part about MH traveling so much for work is all of the perks. I get to spend a lot of his airline miles and hotel points because he is too tired to do a lot of traveling when he is home. We take some trips together, but last year I did more without him than with him. I know these things are much easier for me to do without kids, but maybe you can get in a weekend away while he watches the kids or you'll get a chance to go with him soon. My SIL travels with BIL on a lot of his work trips, but her parents have always kept their kids for extended periods of time and I know everyone isn't that fortunate.

  • @SnShne322 Yay and congrats! I just finished my Masters degree. It was some of the most difficult and memorable times of my life. I enjoyed it even when I hated it.

Yes, I think I've heard this. I might need to get some. I'll probably make it to Boston either later this year or very early 2015. Plan on a quick visit!

    Actually, I know I do.
