Monday Accountability Post
1. How MM was your weekend?
2. Any progress towards goals?
3. Where do you see yourself in 10 years (in any aspect)?
Re: Monday Accountability Post
1. Friday- $45 Walmart, $75 Home Depot
Saturday- $15 grocery store, $20 H's haircut (my first try with the clippers didn't go so well lol)
Sunday- $175 check for H's golf tourn next month
Total- $330
2. $500 House DP
$500 Mortg principle
We paid off our new fridge and 1 vet bill. Still have the second vet bill to go!
Still waiting to hear on the part time job
3. We will be living in a house in the same town, possibly the same jobs, still no kids, still going on vacations. But depending on what my parents do, we may be living down south......
1. How MM was your weekend? Not bad. $20 on Groceries, $12 on Car Wash, $50 on Birthday Presents/Postage all budgeted for out of envelopes.
2. Any progress towards goals? Not really, just working to try NOT buying things I absolutely need to save more. Looking forward to this week's paycheck as it is half my old salary and half my new salary.
3. Where do you see yourself in 10 years (in any aspect)? Married, working, traveling. No longer a Frat Mom! :P
1. How MM was your weekend? Not too horrible. H spent $50 on gas to see a friend and $25 on a car part. I spent $20 on eating out with my mom since she paid for gas to see family.
2. Any progress towards goals? Transferred over the money from the sale of H's car, and our baby savings is back up to where it was before.
3. Where do you see yourself in 10 years (in any aspect)? Hmmm, a couple of kids, involved in their school stuff (PTA), likely still at my same job but maybe not, and of course 100% debt free.

1. How MM was your weekend?
Really great. Only spent $25 on groceries, H spent $48 on gas, we spent $15 on food out on Saturday. We spent nothing yesterday.
2. Any progress towards goals?
Other than the $10 each into Christmas Club and DD's savings account, we did not. But this weekend we will be putting any money left over away into our payoff account. I did look into life insurance and are closer to picking a company. I also messed around with DH's investment accounts to add risk to his portfolio (he only had his money go into his 2050 retirement account).
3. Where do you see yourself in 10 years (in any aspect)?
In our own home, debt free with only our mortgage to pay, fully funded savings/invested accounts, while continuing our yearly vacations.
1. How MM was your weekend?
Ha, I have no idea - we were paying in GBP because we just got back from England! Still, our accounts have about settled from our trip, and it looks like we only went over a budget by a little bit. The good news is the things that put us over budget were Christmas gifts... we got almost all of our Christmas shopping done and managed to stay way under what we normally spend on that. So I'm saying that we were net positive overall! And having Christmas done is a huge perk. England was amazing - I don't regret a single purchase!
2. Any progress towards goals?
Hardwood floors are in the process of being installed. That will come out of our house savings, but we're excited for it!
3. Where do you see yourself in 10 years (in any aspect)?
One or both of us ought to have partnered by then, probably in a second house with a couple kids, still traveling. Our student loans will be done. But we aren't going to pay off our mortgage quickly because we got a great rate.
1. How MM was your weekend?
Great. Spent H's tip money on groceries ($26), and $13 on gas. That's it! We're trying really hard to be good so we can make some real progress.
2. Any progress towards goals?
Not really. H's school bill came in so we had to take some money from the e-fund since we didn't realize his financial aid wouldn't go through. So down in savings, debt is about the same. I updated all my information into YNAB so I can have a more complete picture of where we stand financially. All I can say is "ick!"
3. Where do you see yourself in 10 years (in any aspect)?
Living near my family, debt free, in our house, with 3 kids. Career wise, hopefully working from home or at least working a 9-5.
1. How MM was your weekend? Not terrible- groceries ($120), clothes for the girls ($66), target ($19), check for DD#1's dance class at day care ($340).
2. Any progress towards goals? DH was finally told what school he'll be for the school year so that was a relief. We'll be back to saving $500/paycheck in October.
3. Where do you see yourself in 10 years (in any aspect)? DD#1 will be a freshman in high school, DD#2 starting 7th grade. DH and I will have the house paid off and hopefully newer cards by then. If I'm still at the same job, it will be 20 years (!) and DH will have 17 years in with his teacher's union and as a state employee. We'll be 42 and 41- yikes!
1. How MM was your weekend? Pretty bad, we went for a long weekend to the beach and I ended up spending $160 on food/drinks/gas. Not the best, but it wasn't the worst either. Overall I'm just glad we got away and it was budgetted for.
2. Any progress towards goals? Paid off a little bit on 2 small CC balances, $25 on one ($130 balance) and $50 ($100 balance) on another. I kept more cash in my pocket for our beach trip. I also did my budget out for the rest of the year and cut up my credit cards! It's liberating.
A non MM related win is we're ordering our storm door we've been wanting since buying our house last year! With a recent price drop and gift cards we won't have to put too much out.
3. Where do you see yourself in 10 years (in any aspect)? Hopefully debt free with the exception of our mortgage.. We plan to buy a bigger single family in a few years and will hopefully keep our townhome as an investment property. I'll most likely still be with the government and so will H. No kids if we're lucky
and we'll be traveling a lot!
1. How MM was your weekend? $25 on dinner out with friends and nothing else.
2. Any progress towards goals? We put away another $400 into a SL. That means we have $2,603 to go!
3. Where do you see yourself in 10 years (in any aspect)? One kid and living right where we are now. I love the school we work for. The only major change I would love would be a college degree and a full time job!
Love: March 2010 Marriage: July 2013 Debt Free: October 2014 TTC: May 2015
1. How MM was your weekend?
Friday-$12 on chips and drink mixers for cocktail hour at my house
Saturday- $90 Groceries
Sunday-$0
2. Any progress towards goals?
none, waiting for the 1st of the month to start our new budget plan
3. Where do you see yourself in 10 years (in any aspect)?
probably in a 2nd house. we're planning on 2 kids (with 4-5 years between them) before I'm 35. I love my current job, hopefully I'm still at the same place but a few nochtes higher...currently building up funding for a promotion so things are looking good
. hoepfully H will be down to one job, who knows maybe he'll want to do the SAHD thing (I wouldn't be against it). hopefully we'll have all our student loans paid off
Eh... Sams Club $150, other groceries $50, Target $25, $100 on Friday for preschool registration and to start on tuition.
2. Any progress towards goals?
$300 in savings
3. Where do you see yourself in 10 years (in any aspect)?
Working - same job likely. Hopefully debt free - if we stay in our current house we should have our mortgage paid off. Hopefully ahead on our retirement and enjoying family vacations. Living within our means and not stressed about finances.
1. How MM was your weekend? Not too bad, mainly cash except dinner out on Sunday.
2. Any progress towards goals? Not this week. Need to make my credit card payment this month.
3. Where do you see yourself in 10 years (in any aspect)? Hopefully mainly debt free. MW's student loans should be paid off in 5 years and mine in about 11 years. We will most likely be looking for new cars if we didn't already by new ones. I am hoping that I am at my current company but at a higher level than I am currently at.
1. How MM was your weekend?
no idea. I don't remember any big purchases, and we ate out a couple times, but my parents are in town and I think they paid most of the time?? We aren't keeping a budget right now and it's starting to drive me nuts, but it seems like there is just too much going on.
2. Any progress towards goals? nope
3. Where do you see yourself in 10 years (in any aspect)? Hopefully with a bigger family- ideally 3 kids in school so that I can return to teaching if I want to. (although DH has told me that he thinks I"m going to want to stay home even after they are in school so I can be a volunteer mom and go to all the school events, but I don't know about that. There are days I really miss teaching.)
2-We decided to use our security deposit from our last place to pay off H's smallest SL. It was super low interest, but so tiny we just wanted to kill it.
3-Hopefullt in the same house, but with H in a new job. One kid, no debt but our mortgage, lots of vacations, basement finished, and somehow even with a kid I still get to dive sometimes
