SuBC- "Anna and the French Kiss" (Previous Category)

I chose to re-read "Anna and the French Kiss" because I felt like I have missed some of the magic in it that others have talked about and wasn't remembering many details to go on to read ISLA.  I had read this story first in audiobook format and this time around I chose to read it in ebook form.  I had remembered not enjoying this story as much because I felt Anna was a whiny teenager, however upon reading it this time, I didn't feel that way with it and fell more in love with the book then I had the first time around.  I couldn't put the book down I just wanted to keep getting right back into Anna's story.  My emotions ran the course of her emotions this time and I realized this is one book that probably should not have been read at first in audio, I might have felt differently.  I am now ready to move onto Lola and Isla and are awaiting them from the Library.  I am glad I gave the book another try!

Due to my really wanting to read this, I had to make the challenge work for it and did the previous category from SuBC 2013 NPR's 100 Best Teen Novels.

  • I'm glad you gave Anna a second chance, and I hope you enjoy the next two books just as much!

"People talk about escapism as if it's a bad thing... Once you've escaped, once you come back, the world is not the same as when you left it. You come back to it with skills, weapons, knowledge you didn't have before. Then you are better equipped to deal with your current reality."

  • I remember reading Lola and liking it better than Anna but am interested to see my new perspective on it. I am trying to be patient waiting for it and cannot wait to read Isla.
