  • OK a few more before Stonehenge because I can't help myself:  York Minster, Windsor Castle, Royal Albert Hall right before a concert, and my best shots of Big Ben.

Also - we took a detour to Winchester one day and saw the Round Table (as in "knights of") and the cathedral there.  We saw 8 churches, cathedrals, abbeys, etc. and it was probably our favorite.  Jane Austen is buried there.

  • Love them all!!!!!  The ones from Stonehenge really turned out beautifully, and your camera definitely did great capture the interior of the cathedrals.  Especially since most of them you can't use flash.  That makes it so tricky.

  • I love them! Especially Stonehenge.

History nerd question: who is the "Thomas" from the picture in your first post?
  • Lovely pictures!!!

Thomas Becket - he was the archbishop of Canterbury at one point, but was assassinated inside the the cathedral by four knights who received somewhat ambiguous "orders" from the king (maybe, maybe not).  He was canonized as a saint and is buried there.
