WWYD

So we went to Target tonight to buy storage for M's toys. I wanted the cube kind that I so I can have some open and some with bins. We bought six bins just in case and since the guy had to get then from the back, he just gave us the case. DH checked out and put one on the belt and told the cashier that there were 6 of them. He said ok, but only rang up the one bin. I had taken M out to the car and when DH got in to drive away he said something was wrong with the total and that's when we realized the mistake. Part of me feels guilty, but I heard DH tell the guy we had 6 and he said OK. So I'm just curious... what would you do?

Re: WWYD

  • Probably not the right thing, but nothing. He told him there were six, guy heard him... Why should you go back, point it out and pay more?

I wouldn't do anything. If it was a small mom and pop place, I would, but Target has taken enough profit from me that this wouldn't hurt them. (totally not right...but true).

A few years ago we bought 2 TV stands there. We had to check out at customer service bc they were so big. The girl was chatting on the phone and not pay paying attention. She rung up one stand, and then keyed in some code for the second one. It rang up as $22 instead of $199 or something. I didn't really realize until I was home, but the fact that she was taking a personal call isntead of doing her job was not my problem.

    Agreed!
  • If Hubs told the guy there were 6, the cashier heard him... not your problem.  That's my feeling. The other day, I went to liquor store to get a specific hard cider I had been trying to find.  The cashier told me she was giving me $3 off, and she gave me $6 off. I didn't notice it until I got home, but oh well. I know an extra $3 isn't the same as 5 free cube things, but just enjoy the accident.
