High risk OB and hospitals

Hi everyone, I posted a while back about looking for areas to move to and you guys were so helpful and wonderful, I thought I may bother you again. Just a quick update, we are still trying to get our house sold in order to move, and hopefully something happens soon or we are going to be in trouble! But anyway, I think we settled on the Smyrna area, but now I am pregnant! I am so happy as we thought one child through IVF was a miracle. Here's the thing though I am pretty sure it's multiples this time but we get confirmation Thursday. I am also going to be 37 so I am going to need a high risk OB. From everything I am looking at online it looks like I would have to travel to Newark to get that? Please tell me I am wrong and there are wonderful high risk OBs near Smyrna or Dover and are the hospitals decent for delivery in Kent county? Any help and advice would be really appreciated! I swear when we finally get down there I am having an open lunch/play date for everyone as a thank you!

Re: High risk OB and hospitals

  • I am no help at all because I don't even live in DE, haha, but CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Why do you think it's multiples??

I don't even know you and I'm so excited! lol
  • I am pretty sure it's two because we transferred two embryos and with my first, I didn't really even feel pregnant until about 10 or 11 weeks in. I am only at 5 weeks and I am already getting round ligament pain, lower back pain, a lot of bloating, morning sickness, and the extreme hunger and exhaustion are crazy!! It's so much more intense already that I am pretty sure. Of course I could be totally wrong, but I just have that feeling!
  • Congratulations! Bayhealth in Dover has a maternal fetal medicine group at the hospital. Dr. Colmorgan and Dr Mulla are the doctors. I didn't deliver there, but had to be monitored for cervical issues and the MFM office in Christiana didn't accept our insurance so we had to go to Dover.

  • Congrats!! I delivered my second son at Bayhealth/Kent General hospital. I loved it, it was very quiet and the staff was great. I went there because my OB had moved from Christiana to down there, so I just followed her. My sister is a pediatric nurse there as well and is pregnant, that's where she is having her baby too.

If I have another one I'm probably going to look for a doctor that delivers at Christiana only because it is closer to my mom, she hated driving to Dover when I was in labor and then the next day to visit.
