Re: Manic Monday

  • Highs...Almost all of it!! I woke up in a cleaning mood.on Saturday and at least got everything dusted, vacuumed and cleaned the bathrooms. Celebrated my birthday with DH's family yesterday. His parents gave me some cute gifts. We had a great family day today. Slept in til 8, made breakfast then spent the afternoon in the pool. Now I'm sitting her watching her go to sleep on the monitor

Lows...probably the BBQ at his aunt and uncles. Food was just ok and it drags on forever! ;)

  • Highs- We had a pretty relaxing weekend. Saturday afternoon/night we went out on the boat and had a blast. Because of that, I was dragging pretty bad on Sunday which resulted in an early night last night. Today we had a bbq at my parents.

Low- I've been dragging for the last 2 days. Like exhausted.

  • Highs: We started with no plans, but it was fun. The Budweiser horses came to town on Friday, so we went in to see that. They are CRAZY big. Sunday we went to my cousin's for a little pool party.

Lows: Lil has been waking up SOOOOOO early, and then she's miserable. And I"m miserable. I want to order an 'okay to wake' clock, but they're $$$
  • @s517 - Those horses are HUGE!  I saw them at Busch Gardens years ago.  Crazy

Highs - was a good weekend!  Decorated the nursery (will probably post pictures later), got to see Amanda, won a free 31  bag gift from Jeff's work wife online, had way too many crabs (that's a high in my book).  It was even civil between my sister and me yesterday.  She keeps buying E clothes, which I really appreciate it, but MAN I wonder if she'll wear all she has before we out grows them!

Lows - I should start this by saying Jeff has this talent for dealing with people.  I don't.  He can make the most disgruntled costumer service people happy.  I seriously don't know how he does it. It's the accent I think.

Now for my low - I ordered 2 doz crabs Sunday for Monday.  Figured we'd go pick them up, pay and be on our way... nope.  It was at Chris' Crab Shack outside NE.  We go and there's a girl ordering at the counter.  It's fine, but it's outside, 85 degrees and I'm 9 months pregnant.  Guy behind the counter saw us, but after she orders her 2 doz, he keeps talking to her.  About cooking, and crabs and where he grew... OMG I JUST WANT MY CRABS!  I'm waiting and getting bitchier and bitchier.  Jeff HATES when I get this way, but SERIOUSLY it's a big pet peeve.  See what we want and then you can go back to flirting, I promise.  Mind you - this isn't teenagers, it's 30 year olds.  This is your job, not a bar.

I move over so he can clearly see me.  Jeff goes to the car because I'm being a "bitch".  Whatever.  Finally I see a girl at another window texting.  Does she ask me if I need anything?  Nope.  So I ask her to get my order which should have been done 30 mins ago.  She tells me this guy will handle my order soon.  No, he doesn't care.  I almost asked for a manager, when the girl's order is done and he FINALLY knowledges us (Jeff came back).  Jeff thinks I'm joking when I say I'll never go back.  I'll pay $9 more a doz for decent service.

  • @mana8503 - The nursery is beautiful! And I would have lost my -ish at the crab place.

Highs - Everything. We had a great weekend full of BBQs and friends. I got to see Eliza's room (and all of her itty bitty dresses!!) and my friend's new baby. T was not feeling the new baby and was mad that the baby wouldn't eat the goldfish he gave him. Yesterday we had some friends over that each have 3 girls and 3 of those girls are the same age as T so he was having the time of his life. And then.. and then .. last night, T PEED ON THE POTTY!!! We aren't really training him but we did buy a potty to get him used to it being in the house. Every night when I go to put him in his jammies, I sit him on the toilet and we read a potty book. Last night, I was late changing him so I was just going to skip it and put his jammies on. But when I went to put his sleep diaper on, he pulled it off and said "Momma pee pee". I said "Do you have to pee pee? Do you want to sit on the potty?" He said "yes" (which he says to everything so whatever...) So I sat him on the potty and walked out of the room quickly to grab some diaper cream. When I came back, he was standing up, pointing at the potty and saying "Momma pee pee!!" HE HAD WENT! I'm sure this won't happen again for 100 years but it was still exciting! (For me. H couldn't have cared less.)

    Lows - Nothing really.

  • Highs - H's parents came down and we went to Baltimore for pie, which was delicious.  I went to the movies with my mom and got to spend some time on the deck yesterday.

Low - The BBQ we were supposed to go to on Sunday got cancelled.  That's about it.
  • Highs:  Friday night we had a date night, so it was nice to go out and have a kid free night!  The rest of the weekend was pretty nice and relaxing

Lows:  We found a yellow jacket nest on our back porch the other day, H thinks he killed them all.  I sure hope so because we are supposed to be hosting a BBQ next weekend.

  • Highs- Pretty much the whole weekend. Low key Friday night with the Phish couch tour. Then Chesapeake Inn with our good friends on Saturday. We brought a friend for Chase for the weekend and they ended up eating too much candy from the vending machine and drinking too much soda, but they had a great time. His friend (oldest child of 5) has never been to the Inn and never had crab before so that was fun. We went to our beach house after that and it was a nice weekend with everyone.

Low- I got a call from the friends mom late Sunday night that she was taking him to the ER because he was broken out in hives and his face started swelling. We think he was allergic to either the crab he ate or the blueberries he had 2 days in a row. Neither of which hes ever had before.

My brain can't even wrap around this... never had crabs or blueberries?!  I hope he's ok... but WHAT?!

  • Yeah I feel bad for the kid. They dont ever go out to eat, but with 5 kids Im sure that isnt the easist task to take on. I get the impression that the practiclly live on processed foods and junk. The cheaper and easier the better. Plus the price of both blueberries and crab are crazy and they not in a good financial situation at all.

Thats why I thought it would be a good idea to get this kid out around adults and take him to eat somewhere really good.

  • @mrsskiz -  I can't imagine 5 kids.  When I watch things like extreme couponing, yea you can get so much food cheap, but like you said, it's junk.

I'm also spoiled with my blueberries.  I have no idea how much they are lol.  I eat them by the pint in June and we still freeze 5-7 gallons.  We got crabs this weekend and holy mother, they are $$.  He's lucky he can get out with you guys.  Just sad he had a reaction!  hopefully he doesn't stop trying new things because of it.

Oh my goodness, that's terrible!  Did they find out what it was yet?
