    2. Any progress towards goals?

Nothing yet, we get paid this week

    3. If you have a yea off with pay, what would you do?

I'd probably enjoy the weather outside more (beach, pool, day trips)

    I'd also travel a lot

    Saturday $37-sushi

  • Weekend was like death by 1000 cuts mm wise! Eating out, uhaul rentals (x2), new furniture (went to a model home auction and got amazing deals, but still spent 2400, at least we had been saving for this), gas and probably tons of other stuff I'm forgetting.

Not mm, but we are half way unpacked. There are still some unfinished things in the house so we will have workers in and out this week, but it's been so worth it already. I just love the new house.

I would do what I already am doing, SAHM. But if dh could get off with pay, travel more. Go to visit family, but also overseas.

  • 1. How MM was your weekend?

Friday: $24 at the grocery store

    Saturday: $10 ice cream

    Sunday: $45 Target

    Monday: $0

    2. Any progress towards goals?

DH had 3 paychecks in August, with OT .  Moved some money around to savings.  I think we will need to replace our living room couch sooner than we thought.  Set some money aside for that.

    3. If you got a year off with pay, what would you do?

Organize my house.  Spend plenty of time with friends and family.  Travel to Europe to spend time with my family I don't get to see often because of the distance between us.

  • 1. Good! Just within-budget beer to bring to parties.

    2. H made a jumbo car payment and paid off his smallest SL (that may have been last week...)

    3. Travel, travel, travel! Or, maybe "bank it" to stay home for one year with a future LO.

    1. How MM was your weekend? Not great. Car repairs - new heat shields, rear links, tire rotation, break service, new battery ($906), groceries ($145), new iron queen bed frame ($279 from overstock), 2 new bedside tables ($250 from LLBean), 3.5x5.5 rug for sitting area in bedroom ($275 from Home Decorators.. will order a big one, 8x11 for $1200 if we like it). DH has a car repair next weekend, but hopefully it'll be around $350 for that. We've been wanting to redo our bedroom for awhile, so it'll be nice to have that completed in the next month or so (need to repaint, buy a queen bed, new bedding, curtains, table lamps, tufted bench for end of the bed too)

    2. Any progress towards goals? Nothing new. DH's first day back to school is today so we'll be getting his paychecks rolling in soon- it'll be nice to be a 2 income family again.

    3. If you got a year off with pay, what would you do? Take DD#2 out of day care for a few days a week. DD#1 is officially a pre-schooler today (!) so she'll stay for at least the 1/2 day pre-K program. Spend more time with them, spend more time cooking, sewing, and probably gut the upstairs bathroom earlier since I would be home to watch over everything. And of course, join a gym again. Enjoy every second of it that's for sure!

I lied on #2! We paid off one of H's Student loans on Friday!

  • 1. How MM was your weekend? Not too bad. $13 at Chick Fil A, $28 for gas, $50 at Home Depot for plants for our new garden, $18 at Lowes for Mulch but we had a gift card.

    2. Any progress towards goals? Not this week, but it isn't pay week.

    3. If you got a year off with pay, what would you do? Travel a lot (as long as we had it in our savings to do so), spend more time with family/friends, and workout a lot more.

  • 1. How MM was your weekend?

It was a good weekend.  We spent $72 on groceries.  Nothing else out of our budget :)

    2. Any progress towards goals?

Unfortunately, money was tight since we had gone on vacation, so no progress.

    3. If you got a year off with pay, what would you do?

Travel.  I would go to Europe, Asia, the Middle East, South America, several islands.

  • 1 - It was a busy/fun weekend so I didn't really kept track as well as I usually do.  We did eat out a little more than I planned because of the business. Friday we went out to eat, Saturday we took advantage of a couple sales at the stores to get DD some fall/winter clothes, Saturday night was girls night out, Sunday I played a wedding and Monday was miniature golfing with the family.

    2 - $50 towards emergency fund

3 - We would live in Hawaii for a year. :)

  • 1. How MM was your weekend? Not as bad as we expected since we went to see friends 8 hours away.  We stayed within our budget of $350 total for the 4 day weekend and the 8 hour drive each direction.

    2. Any progress towards goals?  Put $1,500 into our baby savings from August.  Yay!

    3. If you got a year off with pay, what would you do? I would definitely travel and get house projects done.

  • 1. How MM was your weekend?

Haha. This was not MM friendly, but we paid for it all in cash (except some clothes at Kohl's which I will pay off this month/next month).

    Friday: $91 date night

    Saturday: $232 (monthly stock up) & gas $24 (saved 10 cents a gallon with a BJ's promotion)

Sunday: Amusement Park: $90, food: $34

Monday: Clothes from various stores: $80, eating out $38

    2. Any progress towards goals?

Not this week since we spent more than we should. But it's a new month and I start my leave next week so I won't be going out as much and cooking in more. Goals will be cut back for the time being since we are going to be a one income family for 3 months. My goal is to not touch the savings whatsoever while I am on leave.

    3. If you got a year off with pay, what would you do?

Well, I would stay at home with my little ones, and it will help save daycare costs since DD#1 will be going to kindergarten next September. I would travel by RV through all 48 connecting states, as long as DH could take the year off too.

  • 1. How MM was your weekend?

Pretty good, everything was budgeted(or came out of envelopes)...I have to share that I got a couch for $15 on Saturday at our local Habitat for Humanity ReStore. I was so excited!

    2. Any progress towards goals?

Not really, just saving every little bit until the end of the year, so never much change here for right now.

    3. If you got a year off with pay, what would you do?

    Volunteer!

  • 1. How MM was your weekend? Not too bad

    Friday - $0

Saturday - $15 chinese take out

Sunday - $30 breakfast, $90 Groceries, $30 dog (food and treats stockpile)

    Monday - $63 - 2 doz crabs for a BBQ

    2. Any progress towards goals?  No goals right now - saving our snowball for H's 2 weeks off after baby come.  Just happy to reset from last month.  Spent a lot that we were was coming, but I feel like we need to reign it in now.

    3. If you got a year off with pay, what would you do?

Be a SAHM!  We'd use the $ we saved on daycare to go see H's kids each month.

  • 1. How MM was your weekend? Ours was pretty expensive.  We installed new closet fittings in 4 closets in the house - this was budgeted for, and we were actually under by about $40!  I spent $30 of those $40 on contact paper for the kitchen cabinets, door mats, and a pull though...  Still, I was net under by about $10 and the contact paper and door mats have made a huge difference.

We also sort of spontaneously bought a television for the master bedroom.  We had an old tube television for the guest room, and H and I had discussed buying a slightly larger TV for the master and moving the tiny master LCD TV to the guest room when we ran into a good deal.  Well we ran into a good deal on Saturday.  Costco had exactly the TV we wanted for $30 off, so we went ahead and bought it.  Given that we had actually talked about it before we saw it, I didn't feel too bad... but we weren't expecting to find a deal that quickly.

We also spent about $75 on the Uhaul, $50 on pizza and beer during the weekend, and $175 on groceries at Costco.  Between moving and going to England, we haven't had a legit grocery run in nearly 3 weeks.

But yeah.  We spent a ton of money overall.

    2. Any progress towards goals? H starts his job today!  I am so flipping excited, I can't even describe it!  Our new floors are being stained today, and they found a stain that's almost a perfect match to the old hardwoods - they will look gorgeous!  Tomorrow they are doing the poly and the shoe molding, and then we can finally move into our bedroom this upcoming weekend!  We've been sleeping in the den...

    3. If you got a year off with pay, what would you do? I would definitely travel.  No question.

  • 1. How MM was your weekend? Amazing! $20 on gas. I got a $40 backpack on a gift card and our $50 lunch out on a GC too! I think not having to spend money was the best birthday gift of all. Haha

    2. Any progress towards goals? Not last week. Trying to hold out on putting our money into savings until my paycheck Thursday so we don't have $0 in checking and give poor H a heart attack.

    3. If you got a year off with pay, what would you do? Go home to my moms and work at her daycare. More money for me and an amazing job I can't have full time.

  • 1. How MM was your weekend?  Pretty good overall.  Did a BJ's run on Friday that was $150 extra.  Then we got BW's on Monday for dinner, $45.  The rest was out of cash.

    2. Any progress towards goals?  MW put $300 extra towards her SLs, $50 extra towards her car, and $435 into savings for LO due Christmas.

    3. If you got a year off with pay, what would you do?  I would start my MBA full time that way when I went back to school I would have less time to complete while working full time.  The year off would have to start at the beginning of my first class though once I got accepted to Grad School.

    1. How MM was your weekend?  Depends on how you look at it...   We ended up spending about $150 more than budgeted, but fortunately my paycheck last week included some mileage that covered that plus some.

    2. Any progress towards goals?  $1,500 toward our HVAC replacement (less than $1,500 to go - YAY!)

    3. If you got a year off with pay, what would you do?  Just take the time to relax, work on the house/yard, and spend more time with friends and family.

  • 1. How MM was your weekend? Pretty good.

$35 on baby gift for a shower (was really 60 but had a $25 gift card).

    5 on kindle book

    2. Any progress towards goals? earmarked 1000 of surplus $ from August to use towards mortgage payment in Oct. I started maternity leave this month so won't be generating income.

    3. If you got a year off with pay, what would you do? If my husband had the same deal, we would live abroad again

  • Since it was a holiday weekend we felt better about going out to lunch and buying food for a pool party :)

Put an extra $550 towards mortgage principal this month!

I'd probably spend 2 weeks at home cleaning and decluttering, then take 4-5 trips to different places like the Caribbean, Nashville, etc.
